Kondo DAC : Why no reviews ??
So here's the "deal". Someone buy one (I'll sell one unit at cost) you will have to prepay then wait between 2 - 3 months before it arrives in the States, then it will go off to a reviewer for upto 3 months when it would be returned to me and ship...
Kondo DAC : Why no reviews ??
Bombaywalle.....your hypothesis is very accurate. Most customers of Kondo are not your average audiophiles, they are music lovers and really are not after the most accurate sound (whatever that is) but after a musical experience that let's them ge...
Kondo DAC : Why no reviews ??
They sell all they make and there's a waiting list to boot!
Fake Cardas: Myth or Reality?
We have seen a LOT of fake KONDO cables......and people have spent good money for these fakes!
Audio Note, Audio Logic, Kora Hermes Dacs ?
My very good friend Kwame has used the Audio Logic DAC for several years but has had it upgraded by the Upgrade Co. (no affiliation) and has tried a dozen "audiophiles" DACs and none have come even close to the Audio Logic. I'll see if I can persu...
Ocellia speakers and power
Sibelius..... I totally agree with you about either loving or disliking the PHY sound. I use the new Ocellia Twin speakers with the 12 inch PHY driver (not the concentric PHY driver I found that almost congested sounding) and use it with a 8 watt ...
Ocellia speakers and power
Johnk I'm talking about real world speakers not some car garage size cabinets!
Ocellia speakers and power
Johnk, I've owned DX4 based speakers for almost 8 years and they do NOT go to 40 cycles! If you placed them in a corner with good room reinforcement maybe down in the lower 50's I had mine in the middle of a room and I'd say upper 50's at best.
esoteric x-05 player
I bought a X-05 about 6 months back abd yes it toook between 750 -1000 to sound it's best. I love it now. I also had the Lector 7 and found it "dar" sounding, never enjoyed that unit.
To SME or not to SME?
Hi Ron - I have no idea what a 30 sounds like, have never heard one but trust your ears. For me the 20 was the most un-involving table I ever had in my system and yes it was with the SMEV arm, all I know is I myself would never consider that table...
To SME or not to SME?
I’m currently using a direct drive which has great rhythm and pace but lacks inner detail, still searching myself for the golden grail. I’ve used in the past which was much better than the SME, a Basis Debut Sig, a SYD S7 and S10 (although I now p...
Question on the Purist Audio Limited Edition P/C's
I use it to GREAT success on my amp but find it can "hide" information on some source components, although it does give a very black background.
To SME or not to SME?
Mauidj ~ I had the 20 for at least 5 weeks and during that time didn't want to listen to mt system because it had no "life" no "engaement" no PRAT with the SME 20 in it. I could list all the equipment but let's just say there was over 200K of gear...
To SME or not to SME?
I don't represent or currently sell ANY turntables so I have no agenda I'm just stating a fact of when I was "loaned" an SME 20 table it made my system dead dead dead! The SME 10 I've never heard so my comments are only regarding the 20.
To SME or not to SME?
To your original post. NOT an SME for me. I've used a SME 20/3 and yes it has the blackest soundstage and pinpoint imaging BUT it had no life. It was DEAD sounding and uninvolvimng. NEVER again an SME IMHO.
