Phono Stage upgrade to complement Dohmann Helix One Mk 2
Sorry @rauliruegas I usually place at the end of a post "Dealer disclaimer" especially when I talk about any equipment. I've been a member here since 2006 and as you can see I don't post much, up to 114 posts now. As for Kondo gear, initially it w...
Phono Stage upgrade to complement Dohmann Helix One Mk 2
@rauliruegas what is "true fidelity"? Do you know? Do I know? No. (My wife tells me I should know after being married for 46 years!) It was Kondo-san himself that taught me things about analog and it's sound and it was he who showed me the light r...
Phono Stage upgrade to complement Dohmann Helix One Mk 2
@lewm correct I'm contemplating the CS Port C3EQM phono. I have a Stabi R with the SAFIR arm and a MSL cartridge and couldn't be happier.
Phono Stage upgrade to complement Dohmann Helix One Mk 2
By the way, I think Mike Lavigne owns the CS Port phono. Yes, Mike does and really likes the CS Port phono. Have PM him via WBF and quickly discussed. It's one of the reasons I'm thinking of it, his opinion is highly thought of.

@drbond  stated on 4/29/2022 11:39 "Thanks for the recommendations, but both the CS Port C2 EQM 2 and the EMT 128 (both of which are but phono stages, and look like high quahily products) only have one input.  With my two tonearms, I would prefer...
Discuss The Viv Lab Rigid Arm
Agree with those that say "just listen" and then tell us your thoughts. I’ve never heard a Viv tonearm or even seen one in the wild but it does look interesting. Many people said that Kuzma’s new SAFIR tonearm that has a mass of 60 gms would NEVER...
UPS. Friend Or Foe?
We ship hundreds of packages a year and last year only had one "lost" but nothing ever damaged...so far lucky, I guess. BUT there's a little secret I've been told by my local UPS rep (and I'm assuming FedEx). If you insure the item for a minimum $...
Cartridge "upgrade" to Dynavector XV1T
We originally started with a MSL Sig Gold and then tried the Sig Platinum, both outstanding cartridges. As @jperry stated the Gold is slightly warmer and in my opinion a bit more musical, the Platinum more neutral and closer to the performance on ...
Hesitant to upgrade my phono cartridge
@paulgardner the 1st thing I'd check is the tracking force. Is it still correct? A good tracking force guage can be found on Amazon for around $35. The next is verifing VTA. Again the suspension can change over time and you might have to increase ...
Cartridge burn-in
Regarding my own MSL Gold Signature unit, it sounded very good right out of the box but nothing really specail (as I was hoping for). After 10 hrs it started to open-up and relax but after 25+ hrs OMG it was like another animal. Now I understand w...
What is the “World’s Best Cartridge”?
I'm still very curious if anyone has had the pleasure of listening to the MSL Gold Sig vs. Platnium Sig in the same system and can tell me the differences.  Thanks in advance
What is the “World’s Best Cartridge”?
@pindac if you are ever in the Boston area (we are 45 minutes North in Southern NH) you are more than welcome to come over and have an extended listen.  😉
What is the “World’s Best Cartridge”?
Over the last few years I've been using a Kuzzma CAR-50 then the Sussuro MKII and most recently a MSL Gold Sig. All have sounded wonderful BUT the MSL (after a minimum of 25 hrs) is just in another world "in my system."  The system hasn't changed,...
Bricasti M15/25/28 owners
PS: forgot to mention that I've had the M28's in my studio and they are better than the M25 but they do take up a LOT of real-estate.
Bricasti M15/25/28 owners
I initially started out with the M15 then when the M25 became available switched to it and have been using it as my main amplifier for several years. I listen every day to it, basically it is never shut off.  Yes we are a Bricasti dealer but even...
