Speaker recommendation for a Fisher 500-c Great amp you will love it. Good ideas above. Other ideas would be used harbeths, restored tannoy hpds, b&w floorstandsrs from the 1980s (trust me on this). For new speakers could try new tannoys. Enjoy.
Integrated/DAC Suggestions Nice speakers but I am not very familiar with them so take this all with a grain of salt. I have the Hegel H200 (no dac) and love it. Really liked the sound of all the Hegels I have heard, and think they have a great implementation of the dac for ...
Interconnect Cables for Passive Preamp and NAD C275BEE Amplifier In that price range I like the wire world eclipse line. Does everything well nothing standing out good or bad, no special angle on the highs or lows. Really nice build quality too. I also have had good experience with the audio quest but their vas...
50 hours of research = 1 amp for Totem Sttaf Nice choices. I would pick the rogue - great sound. Also may want to add Hegel and Ayre to your audition list. Haven't heard the ayre but seems to be highly regarded. I have the Hegel and love it.
Scotch? No thanks. Whats the best Vodka.? Zubrowka bison grass from poland. Has the refinement of a great single malt. My last name should lend some weight to my recommendation.
Fun at the local B&M Interesting experience. Do you know if plex has better sound than streaming iTunes or Apple Music?
Speakers that will bring me down to me knees crying with joy Taters - that was the point I was trying to make - harbeths have a nice sweet sound and aren't fussy whereas the speakers listed above require more attention to setup and associated equipment. Cheers
Any opinions on a possible switch from Von Schweikert VR-1 to Spendor SA1 speakers? My thought is spendors are likeable good speakers but not lovable great ones. Might be a lateral not forward move for you. Also they wont play any better with your room than the von sch do - could even be worse. Honestly i would think your setup w...
From everything I read Americans spend a lot of time in their cars. Yes we have sirius, xm, podcoasts and streaming bluetooth but my guess it will stay with us due to cars and maybe somehow real community radio will come back when these corporate stations and the all ta...
Speakers that will bring me down to me knees crying with joy Have you heard harbeth? The speakers you are looking at are great hi fi speakers that need careful set up and matching to sound their best. But for what you describe you want harbeth comes to mind for me. Just my thoughts. Enjoy thecsearch.
Hegel H100 vs H160 I haven't heard the h100 but I find the hegels all have a great house sound with more similarities than differences when considering only the sound quality. Some audiogon posters find the new 360 and 160 models much better than the older 100, 200 ...
Yamaha A-S3000 - any experiences? The as 3000 has the meters. I would pay much more for the meters. I know there is no reason to have them but they look great. The yamaha sound is generally very natural and laid back.
opinions on best neutral sounding amp with DAC under $4K Nice speakers would love to hear them. I had great listening sessions with the hegel h160 with spendors, harbeths tannoys and kef. Did great on all three speakers. I really like the hegel sound. My hesitation on the 160 is the apple play features ...
Matching speakers to vintage amps Nice amp. Vintage speakers like tannoy would be good but tend to be a size larger than bookshelves and getting good ones in a decent cabinet can take some doing. B&w bookshelves from the 1980s are a great value and would sound good with your a...
Did anyone see the Adele concert from N.Y.C tonight I do not like her style nor her music. But in an era of pitch correction and digitization of voices, she can sing. So give her that. |
