The Snob Appeal Premium Have you tried Bose?
Choice between Wilson Audio Alexx or the Alexia V I currently own the Alexia 1 and have new Alexx V's arriving in a week or so. I'm also very curious about the SQ delta. I love the Alexia which I have paired with two Perlisten D-212 subs. Both of these speakers require similar amp current as th...
Picking Speakers 20k-30k I don't think there is only one right speaker for each pair of ears. I tend to like a lot of speakers and depending on my mood at the time, could select several winners. Unfortunately we can't hear the candidates in our listening room and with ou...
Magico vs the world I own the A-5 and like them a lot. The only fault I can find is that they don't cast a 3D image as well as most Wilson's do. I attribute that to the lack of time alignment.
What can beat Wilson XVX for less money? @hiendmmoe Well said! Many folks on this forum seem to think that those with more resources are somehow not true "audiophiles". Wilson Audio seems to trigger them?
Is it possible for a high end manufacturer to overprice their goods? @kokakolia You convinced me. I'll start shopping at Walmart for the best of everything.
A move from Harbeth to... Wilson? I like a wide range of speaker brands. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses. None are really bad and I'd be happy to live with any of the top brands at their various price points. I've just ordered a new pair of Wilsons as I love their a...
Is it possible for a high end manufacturer to overprice their goods? What I find interesting is how dealers and equipment manufactures tend to complain how difficult of a business high end audio is. Tough to stay a float. Yet at the same time there are hundreds of manufacturers entering the market and constantly in...
Real world Loudspeakers what does very good cost ? I guess it all depends on the definition of "good sound" or "refined" speakers? I suspect everyone has a different definition at different price points. I can say that speaker performance has improved at every price. I personally have several sp...
What can beat Wilson XVX for less money? @mrdecibel I think we all listen to music differently at different times. The goal for most of us is maximizing our musical satisfaction. An artist can paint a picture with one intention and the random viewer may perceive it differently yet ga...
What can beat Wilson XVX for less money? I have two systems. My main system has Alexia 1 and second system Magico A-5. I have just placed an order to replace my Alexia’s with the new Alexx V which I have auditioned. Why? Because the Wilson’s present such an incredible 3D holographic soun...
DAC Compatible with PS Audio SACD Transport @dcpillai , I "think" that PSA DAC would be best. The concern I have about both the Denafrips and Holo Audio is the way in which they use R2R to decode DSD. Most reviews of these units never discuss. The DSD D to A system on my TP often does no...
DAC Compatible with PS Audio SACD Transport As a side note the reason I bought the PSA SACD transport last year was to play my large collection of SACD's. Note that a SACD is only DSD64. In many cases a redbook sounds better played through the PSA transport. FYI
DAC Compatible with PS Audio SACD Transport I have the PSA SACD Transport connected to my Denafrips TP via I2S input and it works great for both SACD & Red Book. Listening right now. You must adjust the DAC pin settings. Alvin at Vinshine Audio has instructions. Highly recommended.
Why didn't I sell my vinyl rig? @oddiofyl You got me thinking about which is most important....TT, arm, cart, or phono pre. My guess is cart and pre. I know both of those upgrades in my system produced solid results. |
