Am I going sideways?
Johnbrown. Yea. You're correct. I was referring to the match up of the DV to the Rega. The DV is a very good cart. I find the Rega combination weak relative to the capability of the DV.
Am I going sideways?
If you're staying with your other components a SOTA Star vacuum would be a very real upgrade. Even with the vacuum I would still recommend the addition of the SOTA clamp.I wouldn't go too high up the ladder with the Dynavector and Rega though. I'v...
Music Hall MMF 7.1 Turntable. Good choice?
I've had the Music Hall. Quite good for the $$. It could be woth your while to also look at entry levels of SOTA before you invest. Yes, I've owned 3 SOTAs so talking from some experience.

Akai. Still own one.
Anyone else in my shoes? Ears going.........
The addition of an equalizer (no groans please) to my main audio system has not only helped me more finely set what I'm hearing but also enables me to adjust out some of the more harmful sounds that I find impact my hearing most. Redbook CD's are ...
best vocal harmonies in rock
Didn't see Simon & Garfunkel above. Jefferson Starship. Manhattan Transfer (perhaps stretching "Rock" category here). Pure Prarie League. Poco. Flying Burrito Brothers.
Overshadowed by bandmates
Agree w/ all above except Mark Knopfler + Dave Davies who I believe had plenty of recognition. Mick Taylor and George Harrison are probably most notable since from super groups.I'd add Carlos Alomar + Mick Ronson guitar work w/ D. Bowie, Tim Renwi...

Purchasing my first TT, suggestions welcomed
Consider the SOTA with Graham arm depending upon the age of the table. Do you know what series the SOTA is? My recommendation is based upon experience with SOTA (3 tables incl the Star Sapphire), Micro Seiki, B & O, Music Hall, classic Pioneer...
Clearaudio RCM good alternative to VPI?
I'm very happy with my SOTA unit. Affordable, simple, quick and most importantly effective.
phono preamp with volume?
Art Audio Vinyl One. I am continually amazed by the rich sounds flowing through mine. At the price it's a value.
JBL L300 - true myth?
Punchy yes. Wide dynamics, NO. I've owned a pair in the past and at the time they sounded great on some of the classic McIntosh receivers, Marantz, Yamaha, and even Pioneer and Harmon Karden. I still own a pair of L65 Jubals. Although not the same...
Best blues guitarist, Clapton or Green
Rel2, Quite an eloquent, poignant, insightful, and even enjoyable response. Thank you.For me, Green is the better guitarist of the two.
Trying to get in to vinyl, turntable suggestions?
I agree w/ Lgl about the MMF 5/5.1 based upon personal experience not as my first table but one I purchased new and owned for a about 1 1/2 years. Quite decent reproduction and it did not damage any of my vinyl from what I can tell. I upgraded the...
Records that made you reassess your music beliefs
While I was in 9th grade The Jimi Hendrix Experience released ARE YOU EXPERIENCED. I can list many other records that had a profound influence on me but this was incredible. Yes with THE YES ALBUM is somewhere in line behind Hendrix and his group.
