Spatial M3 Sapphire
The Sapphires are night and day different from the Focals. They present beautifully with a YUGE soundstage and well toned bass. They definitely respond to proper placement and toe in and will reveal your rooms deficiencies. But a solid investment ...
Are there any recording artists you just can’t listen too?
Except Carlin and Williams and Thompson all took their own life. I suspect in part because they knew somehow it was all for naught.  Anyhow, to come back to Dylan. I can’t underestimate his social and political importance. His lyrics spoke for mi...

Dylan. Nasally, self important narcissist whose gifted lyricist ability is wholly subsumed by his limited musicianship. He was the right person at the exact right time.
Isolation Devices: Any Good Ones?
Isolation devices? IDK. I was a Dungeons & Dragons player in high school and that was pretty isolating. So yeah, I'd recommend that.
Natalie Merchant - Leave Your Sleep
For a long time she was an artist in Residence at the New York City Head Start program and she was kind of out of active music production for that time. You know I've been listening to 10,000 Maniacs since probably 1990 or 91 and I really don't se...
Natalie Merchant - Leave Your Sleep
Our Time in Eden is analogous to the Polices Synchronicity: after that apex, there was really no higher each band could have gone.  I kinda hopped off the train after Motherland, but jumped back on when I heard Butterfly.

The fact that so many of the artists that people mention is being absolutely miserable to listen to have hundreds of millions of devoted fans and Decades of legacy simply speaks to the relative quality of music appreciation. I'm not sure why peopl...

Swift and Joanna Newsom seem to be the youngest artist referenced in this entire thread. And outside of the general and myopic references to rap and  "hippity hop" and Country, no one seems to have mentioned any thing made this century. Which spe...
One of the most pleasurable aspects of this hobby!
I can relate. Was skiing in my 20s up in Quebec and heard this beautiful exotic song playing over the mountain loudspeakers. A few months later was having dinner out with my ex in-laws and former wife when that same song came on the restaurant sys...
Is this a new trend?
@viridian has a point. The number of houses I've been in even in my own Gen X that still have floor standing speakers is pretty minimal. Anybody who has anything up from a sound bar usually has a pair of bookshelf speakers. Maybe a sub if they're ...
A life sentence!!!
@motown-l good call on the velodyne. I’ve had my CHT-8 since 2002 and it just keeps going and going.
Audio companies in the mirror
@mofimadness I’ve always wanted to hear Channel Island equipment! They look well made and invested in.
A life sentence!!!
Reference 3a de Capos. Most transparent and honest speakers have ive ever heard
No love for Cube Audio speakers?
That seems a fair price for those. They look and sound beautiful. We're getting into the spring and summer season when sales tend to drop, and things just aren't selling as fast recently for all sorts of reasons, both economic and political. Do yo...
Some people actively participate but rarely if ever start a thread.
I've found that threads I've started that ask for something specific are pretty well responded to and answered. But ones that are more opinion based or ask for feedback on a certain component inevitably devolve into pissing contests.
