For the first time...
Thanks for the replies, everyone. In some ways I feel I'm betraying analog, a medium I'll continue to champion no matter what. But @grislybutter is right in that I would most likely gave to spend another 3-5K to get my analog rig up up to what my ...
Audiphile Press: Am I jaded, experienced, or has it declined?
I still read it for the music reviews at the back. They're the first things I turn to.
Dr, Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Dr. Jekyll sits back and revels in the sound surrounding me in synesthetic imagery. My Hyde starts to worry when the cartridge gets to the inner part of the vinyl, knowing there might be distortion  and smearing.
Decware ZP3 Phono Stage Gain Issue
Have you tried the Decware vinyl forum? https://www.decware.com/cgi-bin/yabb22/YaBB.pl?board=LPS
Bookshelf speakers that pair well with Decware ZMA
Great choice! With your budget and listening distance (practically nearfield), you would be well served to give the DeVore 3XL a try. With your budget you can also add the custom stands!  The ZMA puts out 40w of push pull, dual mono power so anyt...
Hagerman Trumpet MC (12AX7 Tube Suggestions)
Picked up my second Trumpet over the years a few months ago. Brent Jessee over at Brent Jessee Tubes recommended NOS Amperex BB's. I can't quite remember what tubes I rolled in my previous Trumpet iteration, but it sounded wonderful no matter what...
What component to improve to balance out system?
@mastering92 I'm pretty near field. The listening room you see on my profike is obsolete and im currently updating my virtual system. I suspect my turntable is the weakest link.

@roadwhorerecords Here; I fixed your post below: "I guess it's all in the viewpoint. Snowflakes view 'If you don't agree with me, you are intolerant! You should be censored, deleted, banned, fed to the hogs'' Conservative view, "I feel threaten...
Subwoofer boom is too much for me...
@erik_squires Thanks for the info. I'll try that this evening.

@2psyop nice one, btw. For a long time I thought I was hearing better through one of my ears than the other, but then as I got older, that switched.  Also, as much as I railed against MC, he did make things interesting. Kind of like Eminem's line...
Starting from Basically Scratch. Help me power some Wilson Watt Puppys
+1 on the Hegel. It'll be a good starting point for sound comparison.
Subwoofer boom is too much for me...
@erik_squires My sub doesn't have a port; however, I've been running a cable into the low pass with my Ragnarok as Schiit says their speaker terminals are both active (and thus I don't use their REL cable). However, most guidance says to avoid the...
Subwoofer boom is too much for me...
This has worked for me every time I've set up a sub, whether it be REL or another brand. The idea of keeping the crossover as low as possible while volume high was tough to swallow at first, but now makes sense.  Subwoofer tuning And yes, I have...
