Hearing aid question
+1 on Costco. +1 jomace Buy the best you can. Your entire multi $k audio investment is funneling through one place. I have high end Signia hearing aids. They are pretty good & MUCH better than the dull lifeless sound I hear without them. Howe...
How often, and how, do you clean your stylus?
I use the stylus brush supplied with my Hana ML before every play. Every 5 records or so MoFi liquid cleaner recommended by my local dealer (Audio Advice). I also use a Humminguru ultrasonic cleaner for my records.
Preamplifier sound Quality impact in home theatre bypass
I have a Rogue preamp I use with HT bypass. The AVR plugs into specific HT bypass RCA ports, which are only activated with the Rogue OFF. Therefore no effect on tubes, and unless the HT relay switch is defective, no impact on sound. A simple pass ...
Ethernet Cables - what are you using and why?
I just received my BJC Ethernet cable, running from my router to my Aurender N150. Someone on this thread (or another) stated Ethernet cables with metal on their connectors (per Aurender) could cause distortion. My old CAT 8 had metal. With the mo...
miniDSP SHD integration
My measured frequency curves improve significantly by plugging my ports (I have 2 rear firing ports per speaker). My KEF R11’s came with soft sponge plugs for that purpose.
miniDSP SHD integration
Ordered the miniDSP HD from Amazon for sub management only. Arrives tomorrow. Thank you.
miniDSP SHD integration
@erik_squires Thank you. My ports are plugged. It was necessary when I added my preamp to flatten my bass response. A couple more questions. Would the SHD be overkill in this scenario and a lesser miniDSP do? Would I not just run my AVR room corr...
miniDSP SHD integration
Ok, to be clear you are talking keeping everything as is except connect the miniDSP to the sub out on my preamp, then to the sub to control low pass and subwoofer room control.  Then use a pair of capacitors on the speaker out to control high pass...
What to change in my system
+ 1 on DAC. Even an inexpensive DAC will improve the sound from your CD6006 Something like the Denadrips will improve your sound significantly. (I have a CD6007 w/Chord Qutest). Then add streamer with Qobuz or Tital. + 1 on hearing aids. They ca...
Going Tubing
+1 on the Rogue RP-5 used.
Going Tubing
I am actually surprised almost everyone is talking hardware. I have found the tubes selected have a SIGNIFICANT impact on sound. I have NOS Telefunken medical, NOS Siemens nickel plate & NOS Brimar CV4003 I roll in my Rogue preamp. The Tele’s ...
Aurender n200, talk me out of signing on the dotted line
@traubr  Thanks. I own NOS Telefunken Medical, Siemens nickel plate & Brimar CV4003. I swapped out the Tele’s for the Siemens. They are bright, but eminently clean & clear unlike the Tele’s. Will try the Brimar’s next. Would like to hear ...
Aurender n200, talk me out of signing on the dotted line
@blisshifi  Thank you!!
Aurender n200, talk me out of signing on the dotted line
@blisshifi  Question, I also own NOS Brimar’s. What tubes, including and in addition to mine do you recommend?
Aurender n200, talk me out of signing on the dotted line
@blisshifi  One other suggestion, having had a lot of experience with many of the components in your system, is to try different tubes in your Audio Mirror DAC. NOS Telefunken, despite their high reputation, deliver a hotter, more overdriven sound...
