Guitar Hero or Rock Band: Admit You Play?
Well I must add that that Rock Band is a revolutionary product. With 2.5 million songs downloaded and counting - this is a REVOLUTION in the making.Never have I had so much fun and the kids are just as keen (the teengaer is playing drums now and t...
I get 70 of the Live Symphony Experience at home
I am not sure where this came from but yes it is true that only a fraction of the music sounds like live and it is two factors1) Dynamic range of most home systems are sadly limited2) Dynamic range of recordings are almost all compressed to suit 1...
Warner and Blu ray?
At least people who buy a $99 player will not have much to complain about if HD-DVD media does die out....that is really a bargain...the only issue would be all those unplayable media discs....perhaps PC's will support HD-DVD and you can continue ...
Satellites or full range?
It depends on so much, however, since very large speakers are designed to play loud then you have a better chance of success with a large box full range speaker. Generally you are looking at three way or a compression horn. Many or most small two ...
What does Jitter sound like?
It will prove that the jitter with your CD player and a commercial CD IS audible if you hear ANY difference. Excellent - if it is indeed proven then you might consider an AES paper to corect these misleading studies - that is probably how to best...
What does Jitter sound like?
Rotarius, Having samples with jitter to compare would be meaningless unless the amount of jitter is quantified. I agree. If you are interested there is an AES Paper published where they studied the audible effects of jitter:Theoretical and Audible...
Is this a reasonable Audiophile Mac-based Server?
I would test your DAC with another software and PC than iTunes and your mac mini. There are many programs that play music....surely you can find something and just test to see if you get drop outs...in which case it would lead one to suspect the D...
Will a Power Conditioner Help?
It may but the only way you can tell is to try one. What you are connecting sounds pretty modest - I would not worry about the load but an APC H15 may do the trick and tell you want current it is drawing.
I need new music....
Try Keb 'Mo Slowdown
Guitar Hero or Rock Band: Admit You Play?
Drums - my 8 year old is beating me! Paranoid is great but Wanted Dead or Alive is fun too. I hope my child keeps the interest up - the drumming is actually real drumming!I highly recommend Rock Band for the musically challenged/illiterate- a lot ...
What does Jitter sound like?
I think a good A/B switching with zero lag would be the best way to hear jitter and describe exactly what it does to the sound I can't do pefectly zero lag as the DSP amp takes two seconds to switch some pretty clunky relays - but this is close e...
The best digital audio out of coaxial, or optical?
If both work properly (the bits arrive) and the DAC device has a re-clocking PLL then perhaps it is just a coin toss between the two....both are equally good (as good as the PLL re-clocker algorithm).
What does Jitter sound like?
I suggest disposing of theory & gambling a few hundred dollars on a simple clock upgrade and report back to the forum. What would you suggest that would be a few hundred dollars and would make an immediately obvious improvement? I have four m...
best rock voices
Freddie Mecury - he had a range of four octaves - nobody else comes close. Queen have sold more than the Beatles...enough said.
What does Jitter sound like?
The question was WHAT DOES JITTER SOUND LIKE, and the conversation degraded into a brain battle of engineers Sorry Dusty...the propellerheads do run on don't they...I'll take your advice and put some more scotch on the bridge of my glasses and go...
