Wilson Audio Haters
Bo1972,Your testimonial about yourself is impressive. You are not the first to claim you have discovered the holy grail. None of what you have written demonstrates any understanding of loudspeaker construction and design but I guess your enthusias...

@bo1972 I note that Monitor Audio use a dampening ring (similar to accuton rubber dots) to help prevent and dampen all the unwanted energy from the ringing of their rigid drivers. My ears are very sensitive to this type of coloration which is why ...
My journey to search for standmount bookshelf speakers...
You get what you pay for. ATC make their own drivers in the U.K. in small volumes. You have to decide whether the diminishing returns of a better build are worth it - many speakers can do a great job at lower listening levels where compression and...

@dlcockrum Not exclusve but correct timbre/musicality/dynamics is more important to me. I respect others have a different view and they may place much more importance on 3D effects. Our brain processes sound for both directionality and the timbre/m...

You should look at ATC and PMC. Your comments suggests that you really notice the true dynamics of music when playing Dynaudio. Some people are not very sensitive to this aspect but obviously you noticed it. Many suggestions above are good but the...

I also don’t like AMT tweeters - they compress way to easily.Bo1972, you seem to be fixated on 3D soundstage and their curious artifacts from the artificial stereo reproduction. I respect that many audiophiles are fixated on this but for me I am m...

I am not at all a fan of Monitor Audio and especially the drivers they use. I have never liked metal or ceramic drivers period. I can hear the coloration these type of drivers add but I do respect that many people can not hear their ringing and in...

Wilson deserve their excellent reputation a lot more than B&W. They tend to have a bit of a resonant bump in the bass (which people love) but apart from that I find it hard to fault them. Wilson tend to use traditional driver materials (pulp p...
Do equipment stands have an impact on electronics?
Geoff,The burden is on you to make a simple demonstration to show that vibration is a big issue. Cars and other mobile devices do not suffer electrical distortion due to vibration of electronics. You are talking about a fringe issue that is obviou...
Do equipment stands have an impact on electronics?
Well if you agree that tapping components is causing vibration in the components and if it makes absolutely no audible sound out the speakers at full volume then you have almost certainly proved that vibration is not a big deal.so it definitely pr...
Do equipment stands have an impact on electronics?
What a totally useless thread full of ad hominem attacks. If the OP actually cares anymore I will add that I concur with Mapman. Apart from turntables, tubes, and speakers, for the most part any mechanical vibration isolation is totally unnecessar...
Filter tweak for digital backwash?
@steakster Noise is a very interesting phenomenon. You can think of it like the canvas of a painting. Just like a different canvas texture or tint could change the visual perception of a painting so too can noise with music or sound. Vinyl may be ...

Heat/Efficency of Speakers
@cleeds You are correct in your statements but you have twice misquoted me. You correct me but my statements more or less agree with yours just that I have stated things a little differently.if I say a speaker churns out between 99% and 90% as hea...
Cd Ripping - is it better to use inbuilt CD drive of laptop or use an external Cd drive
I use iTunes with error correction turned on both internal and external drives. I only had trouble with 1 or 2 out of a one hundred CD.
