Best DAC+Volume Control under $1000 (used)
I'm using a Pro-Ject Pre Box S-2 Digital DAC in my office system and am very happy with it. It's under your budget, which might disqualify it, but it is a Stereophile recommended product, winner of an EISA award and got a great review in the Absol...
A Denon compact system with Mission speakers, from the past, and my past.
Your best bet might be to do a regular search on HiFiShark.com - https://www.hifishark.com/search?q=Denon+D-M10 - and ebay. There aren't any listed either place right now but there have been a few fairly recent sales listed on HiFiShark.

Can overseas shipping be less using the Audiogon system or is there a better way?
Compared to current domestic shipping rates, $140 sounds quite reasonable for international shipping. Has the potential buyer investigated what kid of import duties he'll be required to pay to retrieve the amp from UK customs?
Yet another question about streaming
I'd also recommend the Bluesound Node. It has coaxial and optical digital outputs and almost any DAC you could buy will have one of those inputs, almost all DACs will have both.
Airport Express > Modi Multibit > Integrated Amp
In my workshop I can stream Tidal from my iPhone to an Airport Express and use its optical output to connect to an Audioengine D1 DAC. The analog output from the DAC goes to a DIY amp and its speakers. It works quite well and sounds great.
Lightweight tablet suggestions
My iPad MIni 4 works well with Tidal. They're available refurbished on Amazon and other places for $100 or less, with a 90 day warranty from Amazon.
Integrated / speaker pairings in the $6-7K range
My Raven Audio Blackhawk LE with MM de Capo-i speakers are in that price range and sound beautiful together.
Help/advice, upgrading my vintage amplifier!
The Jolida amps are well-made and very good value. They're not considered state-of-the-art but they are an excellent place to get an introduction to tube gear. Underwood Hi-Fi carries Jolida under their new brand name, Black Ice Audio, and is a hi...
Shipping speakers
One other step that I've found useful -- Buy a sheet, or half sheet, of 1/8" plywood at a home center and completely line the interior of the cardboard box, attaching the plywood to the cardboard with a hot glue gun. If you're properly paranoid, r...
Rickie Lee Jones - Naked Songs
Yep, agree completely. Some of her best songs are pared down to their simplest rendition. Quite a different experience of each of them but very enjoyable.
Getting into Stevie Ray Vaughn
I lived in Austin, TX in the '70s in a house six blocks south of the Rome Inn, a former Italian restaurant that had been converted into a music club. The name didn't change because it cost too much. The regular Tuesday night band was Paul Ray and ...
Getting into Stevie Ray Vaughn
There's an excellent documentary on Amazon Prime TV https://www.amazon.com/Stevie-Ray-Vaughan-Bluesman-1954-1983/dp/B00RHIF0NAand one I haven't seen that's listed on the IMDb sitehttps://www.imdb.com/title/tt7552842/
Tidal Connectivity Woes…
I sometimes listen to Tidal through the cellular connection of my iPhone in a Subaru Outback and have never had dropouts. Same transmitting from my iPad to the Node 2i sitting on my living room couch.
What are the current useless terms in this "audio world"
Describing any piece of gear as 'reference.' It's a completely meaningless term. Compared to what? When I was 16 years old my 'reference system' was an 8-track deck bolted under the dash of a Ford pickup truck.
