Speaker phase observation and question?
" I think if I could leave the bass in positive polarity, and reverse the polarity of mid/treble, the sound would be perfect. "I'm not sure I understand what you're doing to change polarity. If you have high order xovers in your speakers, its tr...
Rega White Belt...how the heck???
" What I want to know (if someone could explain)  why it is...that the drive belt could possibly have an effect on anything tone wise. I can't seem to find the correlation between the two, but the proof was in the listening,  and while it is a ...
Ayre V-5xe Review
What makes this interesting, is that I've never heard 1 complaint about AC. Never. Personally, I think that's incredible.
Time for dedicated outlets!
You have to assume the electrician doesn't know anything about high end audio, and probably wouldn't believe you if you told him. Don't give him the opportunity to say you'll never know the difference, and just use a lesser product.
Speaker phase observation and question?
" Vandersteen also uses first order filters which don't honk up phase "I have 3 pairs. I also had the exact same pair of speakers as the OP, and was able to do a direct comparison. Yes, Vandersteen is a better design, but I don't think that's the...

I would still ask about the 7mv. It can't hurt. Also think about the rest of your components and if you made any changes at all. Even if you don't think its related. Here's an example. Lets say your system sounds fine, and then you buy a new pair o...
Best amp pairing with Aerial Acoustics Speakers?
" You could elaborate on why your experience is different. That would be more helpful to OP than just saying it is a train wreck. "Sure. My experience is different because everytime I've done it the system sounded like crap. " Yes, the problem is ...
Amps from the 1980's -- What gear holds up sonically? Reliably?
" The best thing about the 80's was you you afford the equipment you read about in Stereo Review and The Absolute Sound. "Not if you had a coke problem.
Maggie 3.6R volume problem
" Also checked the resistors and they look okay. "Just to be sure, pull the resistors out of both speakers and listen.

" Only have about 40 hours on the cartridge so hate to change but it my be the solution. "Phono carts go through a lot of break in. There were times when a new cart sounded so bad, I thought it was broken. 40 hours is a good start, but don't mak...
