Suggestions for a passive line-level high-pass crossover?
" Bi-amping vertically (rather than horizontally) does not negate the need for a x/o to accomplish. "Unless you have some really odd equipment, that's not true. There's no xovers on my vertical biamp system, or any other one I know of." Neither ...

Does the noise change with volume? Also, the model of your speaker would help.
B&W Speaker Score!
I was going to tell you how those speakers sound, but every time I do, I seem to start a war. I had the same speakers. Check to make sure all of the bass drivers are working because they blow very easily. Also check all of the screws. They have a ...

Buy the other tweeter as well. Make sure you get a matched pair.

Hegel H20 vs. PS Audio BHK Signature 250 Stereo
" Leaning towards the output bipolars in the Hegel vs. the MOSFETS used in the BHK."There is no bipolar vs mosfet. Listen to 10 bipolar amps and they sound different. Same thing for mosfet.Try and find a Theta Dreadnought, series 1 or 2. It should...

The DV20 low out version and a DV P-75 phonopre, is an extremely good combo for the money. I have the exact same setup on one of my Scouts. If you take your time and follow the instruction, you'll have no problem with setup.
Upgrade from Paradigm Studio 100 v2 speakers [real cases only]
" Let's disregard for now the "it depends on your other equipments". System matching is the single most important factor when building a system. Its not something you can save for later.
Does anyone notice a reduction in sound quality when a tuner is part of ther audio chain?
" I just find it real intriguing to hear that sort of experience."Just to give you another example, I had the same type of problem when I bought a cheap mass market player (Sony 9000ES) to try SACD. When the Sony was in the system, my other compon...

" Please listen to John.  He has your best interest at hand!  I've not listened to him in the past....and it has cost me dearly."I can confirm that as well. He's Vandersteens number 1 dealer, and most people consider him to be the most knowledgeab...
Speaker to mount in a bookcase - up to $2000 (somewhat long)
" A sealed pair of Vandersteen VLRs would work well their coax design will be effective for off axis listeners."I made the same recommendation, and since his budget is 2k I also recommended a Rega Brio because he won't be too much over budget. I k...
3.5mm to RCA cable suggestions.
" Regarding proper grounding, I would expect that a stereo 3.5 mm to dual XLR adapter cable, such as the Hosa cable the OP linked to earlier, would accomplish that. Presumably it connects the ground of the 3.5 mm plug (the "S" of its TRS connec...
Threshold S500/II vs Mark Levinson ML3
Your current amp is a much better match for your speakers. But if it was my system, I would upgrade speakers first. The 802's are a disaster. Whatever components you match to them will most likely sound very different on new speakers.
