Zu Omen or Tekton Lore "Also, interesting there are these differences, since both speakers use the SAME Eminence driver!"Actually I think we need to be careful here. My understanding is that there are in fact differences between the main driver on the Lore and the main ...
Zu Omen or Tekton Lore 05-07-11: Telescope_tradeHi,Just want to make one observation regarding the Omens.First, when I had the regular Omens ( I now have Omen Defs)I found that the height of the spikes made a difference in the sound of the speaker (mostly in the bass) i...
Zu Omen or Tekton Lore 05-07-11: GpoweredNow, from your to the point review, it is obvious that the Lore gets the edge, but can you tell me, is the differences you are talking about extremely obvious, or subtle?"In my small room with 'mellow' music, the differences we...
Zu Omen or Tekton Lore I have an update on the Omen vs. Lore thing. If you guys go back over my posts in this thread youll read that last year I received a pair of Tekton Katz Meow V1. My first full rangers and I loved them, still do. In December I received a pair of Zu...
Some impression on Zu Omen Definition Gte - I own Zu Omen standard. For the height, I have them tilted back, iow the front spikes are longer than the rear spikes.Singers are not in front of the speakers with mine, not sure what's up with yours in that regard.

Zu Omen or Tekton Lore I got on early this morning and noticed the new layout. Nice. Also noticed the new price of the Lore. I just got on with my phone no problem
Hearing Damage over 20khz? Even if the speakers can produce sound to 40Khz, there is so little music that hi up I doubt there is reason for concern. If 40Khz is causing hearing damage then the audible music would be unbearable.
used SET amp under $1500 suggestion Good suggestions so far. Also - Min Yang at Tube Audio Lab out of California can make you one heck of an amp for your budget.

What does one purchase after owning horns? When I went from KHorns I went to Full Range Drivers. To me they give a lot of what the KHorns gave without a certain "shout." I listen a lot more now.I can't recommend any in the $8K range though, more like $2K.Not sure if Renmeister is still lis...
Likely culprit for harshness at higher volumes? Saru - One other thought that is quick and easy.If your room has a door, try playing loud to where the distortion occurs and then open the door. If you are overdriving the room then opening the door may relieve some pressure. If the distortion is ...
Likely culprit for harshness at higher volumes? Saru - I'm not familiar with your gear, but I am familiar with "humming and then patting your chest -- what should be a smooth sound is disrupted by unnatural vibrations"In my case it was the simple fact that I was overdriving the room. I was putt...
Zu Omen or Tekton Lore Yeah, my standard Omens are not perfect, but almost the opposite of bright. |
