Brookvale Records-Brandi Carlile After seeing Brandi Carlile on Samantha Bee a few weeks ago I knew I had to have it. I ordered the vinyl version of "By the Way, I Forgive You" from Music Direct and was surprised at the quality of the gate-fold cover. I was equally surprised at t...
Switched from RCA to XLR Interconnects - WOW My DSPeaker Anti-Mode X4 owner's manual says that, "both the XLR and the RCA outputs carry the same signal." Does this mean that its output is not a true balanced design? Currently I am using it with RCA connection to a Pass Labs X350.5 with 19 fo...
diffuser Yes it can and wood is the best material for diffusers. This will mostly diffuse upper and high frequencies - since it has a shallow depth, bandwidth will be narrow, but better than nothing...and cheap.
Audio Desk Ultrasonic Record Cleaner Onwers? @slaw My Spin Clean rinse step does not use fluid or brush insert; just deionized water with a few drops of isopropyl. That is followed by a final rinse on the RCM using Reagent Grade water and vacuum. I have had my AD cleaner now for a couple year...
Audio Desk Ultrasonic Record Cleaner Onwers? How often you change the fluid will depend on how dirty the records are to begin with. My record collection is in already excellent condition, since I have used a vacuum cleaning machine since the 80's. Even so, I change the fluid every 50 records...
Tim Ryan, BSC Electronic Systems Customer Service Issues? Same with me! I purchased an X4 from Tim Ryan in January and never received it. His email kept telling me that he would ship soon but never did. Now I have lost communication with him, as he will not answer my email. I tried to dispute with PayPal...
need your help on this one..... soix - Same as pdreher; I left my SA100 in class AB mode during standby, then switched to class A for listening. I don't leave my X350.5 ON all the time because in standby it consumes 900W! yikes...
need your help on this one..... I used to own a Plinius SA100 and now own a Pass X350.5What I disliked most about the Plinius was that it took forever to sound its best once switched ON. The amp did not sound its best until being left ON for well over a week. Because of that, I ...
TT mats My VPI Superscoutmaster has the aluminum platter and I use Herbie's Audio Labs Grungebuster Mat. Protects the records and sweetens the sound a bit. To clean, I remove it from platter and run it under hot water. I love mine. Looks good as well...
VPI versus Ultrasonic cleaners What final rinse do you all use? I see that Audio Intelligent makes Ultra-Pure Water available from music direct for $16. I also see several reagent grade water types on amazon.
VPI versus Ultrasonic cleaners I was told by the rep for the Audio Desk cleaner (at RMAF) that vacuuming the record adds static to it. This is why they choose to air dry the record after the wash cycle.ajcrocjer1: What ultrasonic cleaner did you use? Were the 2 test records equ...
Headphone or Rig? With speakers, there is a sense of 3-dimentional space with a stage in front of the listener. The listening room has a huge impact on the sound as it provides both reinforcement and cancellation.Headphones' perspective is all in the listener's hea...
CD/SACD Player. I know there are many threads but I still would like help. Just wondering if you realize that a SACD player will not output its digital DSD stream for conversion into a standalone DAC - you must use the DAC inside the player to listen to them. Unless you can extract the digital stream from the SACD and lo...
I've Noticed Lately That There's Threads About Being Noticed Lately No, I will pass on this form of entertainment. Remember the good-ole days when mostly intelligent discourse was the norm on this forum? Now, silliness and attention seeking is all too prevalent…tisk, tisk. Have members run out of serious high-...
Should we use ridiculously priced cables to listen to Rap? If the music contains Beatboxing, I like to use my trusty avant-garde ‘Fat Boys’ cables because they really get the vocal percussion correct and just look bad-azz. For Turntablism, nothing beats ‘Grandmaster Flash’ Ba-Dop-Boom-Bang Phono DJing cab... |
