Honest opinion's of the Mighty KLIPSCHORNS????
I have owned well over a half dozen sets of various Klipsch models ( mostly La Scala's and Heresy's ). Having modified all of these to various states of performance and being able to experience the differences along the way, i think that ALL Klips...
is there really a need for two subs?
No, there is no "need" for two subs in a moderately sized room. You can get very good results with just one if properly done. However, once you hear the difference between two properly set-up subs and one doing the best that it can, you will "want...
My highest praise - for Audiogon
Very nicely said and i agree. Sean>
Upsampling the way to go? ?
I think that both 16 bit and upsampled 24 bit can sound very good. Most of the "problems" that we hear are not with either format, but with the amount, type and how the filtering is used in each design. I've tried it both ways and i prefer upsampl...
from CAT5 to Kimber 4TC--where's the bass?
Shersta, try looking into some Goertz MI-2's. These have a slightly richer, fuller sound with a more delicate and airier treble response than the Kimber's. They tend to sound very romantic and are quite pleasing overall. The midrange on these is e...
What is this interconnect?
What about Versalab ? Don't know if it is what you were looking for, just thought i'd throw it into the ring. They were big fans of using wood on various cabling. Sean>
Power Cable recipes? Do you have a good one?
Nrchy, i said what i said as i intend to market my designs. That is, if i can ever get my act together. Don't look for anything soon : ) Sean>
Does anyone make right angle RCA jacks?

Dialectric grease any thoughts
Anyone ever try that "HIGHLY CONDUCTIVE" silver based grease that J Scull wrote up in a few months back in his "Fine Tunes" column ? While i would not use it on audio connections, it may have its' uses elsewhere and was just curious about other's ...
from CAT5 to Kimber 4TC--where's the bass?
I have 4PR, 8PR, 4VS, 8VS, 4TC and 8TC. They are all slightly lean sounding, some more-so than others. While i am not directly familiar with the TNT variant of CAT 5 speaker cables, i found the Chris VH 54 conductor / 27 pair design to have phenom...
Are you Elegant, Stylish and Obsessive?
To answer your question posed in the subject line:No, No and Yes : ) Sean>
What companies have gone above and beyond?
The companies that come to mind right off the bat were Bryston and Sunfire. Bought a used Bryston amp sight unseen that had been used as a piece of pro sound reinforcement gear. It was beat to death and severely damaged. Dennis at Bryston USA fixe...
Power Cable recipes? Do you have a good one?
Yes : ) Put me in the same boat as Dbuil. Sean>
My new dedicated room sound like crap, please help.
I second Duke's suggestions. I would also add that you are going to run into some BIG "peaks and valleys" since you have two room measurements that are the same size ( 11 x 9 x 9 ). These will tend to heavily reinforce each other and may be tough ...
Better magazine, Stereophile or Absolute Sound
I agree with you guys. There may not have been a better "glossy" than Audio when it was running at full stride. Good writing, music reviews, a healthy blend of subjective sonics and "technicalese", the occasional article that covered subjects that...
