Here is a rave "first impression" of the Impact Monitors:Jason Victor Serinus of Stereophile : https://www.stereophile.com/content/jvs-runs-out-clever-titles-day-three-continues

Thought I'd pass along this assessment of the Impact Monitors found on the Audiomatters blog:"The monitors delivered.....tremendous body and detail, and provide stiff opposition to many other monitors at the $2k price point. I could easily see a...

"The monitors delivered.....tremendous body and detail, and provide stiff opposition to many other monitors at the $2k price point. I could easily see a great music system being built around them." Totally agree with that assessment and would add ...

@Hfaddict - Thanks for the feedback on your DIs and showing us your system. Excellent pictures!! Since you have a JL Audio sub available I would at least try it - stick it in the corner where that plant is? :-)  I run a REL sub with my Impact Moni...

Hi all - I hate to always be the contrarian but we are talking like either you have "natural, organic" sound or you have "detailed" sound. Personally, I don't want one without the other and I don't think I have to. If you are not hearing all the "...

@danoroo - Thanks for the info and explaining your set-up.
Tekton Impact Monitors
@danoroo - Thanks for the great review! I was surprised by your use of classical music. Based on your previous posts I thought we were going to hear a lot about rock and SPLs. You think a subwoofer is needed or are the dual 8” woofers sufficient? ...
Tekton Impact Monitors
@danoroo - "I listen to a lot of rock music at fairly loud SPLs. The 2.7s are slightly more sensitive and the 8" drivers should offer more impact in the lower mid/upper bass region. Also the the tweeter in the 40.5" tall Enzos is at perfect ear ...

@soundermn - I think you are right. From what I can tell a number of the new Tekton speakers have had changes in their components over the life of the speaker. Some of them are announced and others aren't. I would just clarify with Eric when placi...

Thanks Aric.  The MZ2s needed more gain to properly drive the 2A3 so the 6SL7 was the better fit.  Makes sense.

@kdude66 - Congrats Kenny! Seems like a very nice amp. Why was the 6sl7 a better driver tube than a 6sn7? Does it have something to do with using the 2A3-40? I'm trying to picture "This amp was built in a standard Hammond case with a cage covering...

@charles1dad - "So I admit the contradiction in preferring the inclusion of a high quality tube preamplifier.  Despite adding active  circuitry to the pathway,  they just give more than they remove in my listening experiences. " +1. Totally agree....
Tekton Double Impacts
@charles1dad - no my current system doesn’t surpass the Shindo system I had built.  My current preamp and turntable are very good but are not in the same league, frankly.  Shindo presents a very real tone and soundstage that I haven’t heard with o...

@jcarcopo - ha,ha now I understand the double runs of Big Silver Oval! +1 on the Art Audio amp. Thanks again for posting the pictures it just makes it easier to understand someone's perspective when you actually see their set-up.

@jcarcopo - Very cool and thanks!  Any reason you went with bi-wires on your DIs? @david_ten - I just upload my pictures to Audiogon. It seems to work well. Yeah, even just listing your system components would be helpful. We've got so many people ...
