Invalid zip codes in classifieds.. This has been discussed before. I wouldn't say the zip codes are invalid. I would say the system audiogon uses to view zipcodes is outdated.
Building around ss-m3 crossovers You are going to have one heck of a time getting drivers to work correctly with that crossover. As a general rule, you should design (or have designed) the crossover once you have chosen drivers. There are many budget diy designs out there free of...
Latest Stereophile - Recommended Components Azmoon, I don't claim the magazines are the greatest, but there is a reason they recommend most of what they write about. They don't request equipment that is junk. They request the good stuff. Not everything they review is advertised within their...
Kef 104/2 Replacements It is unlikely that any drop in drivers will work for this system. VERY rarely can you find drivers that drop in that were not original manufacturer specs.
Accutron DIY projects? Tony Gee from Humble Homemade Hifi has done numerous designs with their drivers. His designs are free to the DIY'er. He has two different floor standers and I believe two different stand mounts. His Humble Statement is the most recent. It *should*...
Cables to connect TV audio output to a Bose Radio? I agree, cables will not help. There are many solutions for your problem, but the issue is the bose does not have enough output to do what you are asking it to. You need something besides a table radio to accomplish what you are seeking. An integr...
Parasound Halo A23 Amp/P3 Halo Preamp I've owned both and while I didn't have any severe issues, I did have a slight hum that was difficult to hear. Almost impossible with any complicated music. Richard emailed me back and forth trying to get it solved. We never did.Perhaps an integra...
Good integrated amp for Paradigm Studio 40? Anthem gear mates well with Paradigm. Try the Anthem INT 2.
Attn: Speaker DIY expert madisound.com would be your friend. I agree, stick with caps and resistors. You can start with something like solen for a few bucks per cap and go al the way up to Mundorf silver or gold and spend a couple hunderd per cap.
Tone controls- to use or not? I know most audiophiles like to stay true to the signal to see what the product can really do. (meaning no tone controls) But, like others have stated, if tone controls make the sound better for you, why would you not do it?
Opinions of people who have OWNED Adagio's Chad, A lot of times people make comments on speakers that they heard one time real quick in a less than ideal set up. I don't think the original poster is out of line to ask for help from people that own them. Maybe a better way to ask would have...
Does anyone do speaker mods? Speaking as someone who builds speakers, I wouldn't say that removing the crossovers and sending them somewhere is very simple. Especially for those who have never opened up their speakers.Jsadurni, I disagree that a better tweeter will be more ef...
Does anyone do speaker mods? There is a difference between upgrading and redesigning. I take upgrading to me matching values of existing components and replacing them with better ones. There are many avenues for crossover redisign. the forums at HT guide have many members that...
Transmission line speakers - great with tubes Good luck with the amygdalas. Buggtussel is no more.
Does anyone do speaker mods? One important point to remember is that if you put the esotar tweeter and a different woofer in the cabinet of the 140, the crossover has to be completely redesigned. At that point, there is nothing dynaudio about them at all. |
