Are Sound Waves Able To Penetrate Canvas Painting? Didn't see that coming. Yes Luis, I do know that the fabric needs to be open-weave. I was somehow hoping that a small portion of the sound waves might still be able to pass through the canvas, further absorbed by the panels.
Are Sound Waves Able To Penetrate Canvas Painting? Thanks for the response Arthur. That is all I need to hear. By the way, I guess you didn't place any absorption panels behind the canvas art?
Brand preference and opinions My guess is you want to impress your friends more than for your own personal enjoyment. Folks, actually some people are like that and there is nothing wrong about it. It's their choice. I've seen some people who don't play the piano at all but hav...
New speaker placement I'd agree with the previous posters on having some treatments on the front and back wall. From the pictures of your system, it seems like your speakers are quite far from the side walls. If that's the case, treatments on side walls may not be too ...
How to make sound less detailed with warmth? Carpet floor. Absorption panels at both side walls. If that's not enough, stack them all at the back wall. Will kill highs, detail and dynamics. Place them at the front wall as well and you have a acoustically dead room. The others have given good...
What Volume do you listen at? Another consideration is your hearing. So take care of it by trying to avoid excessive and dangerous volume levels. You will thank yourself later.Very true. In fact, I used to listen at very loud volumes when younger, probably above 100db continuo...
XLO Signature S2-2.2 Balanced Interconnect Thanks for the advice John. It has always been sound and helpful. I agree with the synergy thing in that XLO will sound lean on Ayre gears. That goes the same with everything else I guess. After having seen some folks here with cheap Analysis Plus...
The best speaker on the used market for $1000.00 In the $1,000 price range you can choose either Sonus Faber Concertino/Domus or Dynaudio Audience 52SE. With your NAD amp which leans towards warmth, Dynaudio would be a better choice given your musical preferences. Piano and strings may sound mor...
Nordost Heimdall warm??? A cable cannot be cold warm full bodied etc etc You are all being connedBrizonbiovizierSorry to hijack this thread a bit.Although true, there is no way we can describe the sonics of cables correctly or accurately. That is what makes reviewing of c...
Harshness in Midrange??? Any Help Taking the room out of the context, I think the Kimber 8TC's are probably fine. I would guess the Hero interconnects may be the culprit. Sorry to hijack this thread a bit. Reb1208, may I know what is the difference between the LS16mk1 and mk2? Are...
Diffuse Front Wall? Absorb rear wall? I previously had 4 pieces of RPG omnifussors at the rear wall. Shifted them to the front wall and placed CD racks at the rear wall. In other words, I had diffusion at both front and rear walls. I find this configuration to be better than having di...
How many hours weekly do you listen to your system 5-10 hours per week, mostly on weekends only.
Ayre AX-7e vs Plinius 9200 My Plinius SA-100Mk3 had been with me for more than 4 years now and no issues at all. I've encountered more reliability issues with Sonic Frontiers. I agree with John's advice. Just a different sonic signature between those two amps.
Pat Metheny Fans, Great Suggestions Please ?? Xiekitchen,You are correct that I have not heard an ecm LP as I do not own a single LP. My comments are all based on CD's and that's all I have in my music collection.
ac cables falling out of IEC inlets on amps Interesting findings on the blutack. I only use it to secure my speakers to the stands. I'll try it on the connectors tonight and see if this thing really works wonders even on unexpected places where you don't want them to be. |
