CDP caused tinnitus?
I have not got my ears checked by a specialist yet but I suspect I have tinnitus. Apart from listening to music at loud volumes, simple actions such as closing the door with a bang or talking loudly will trigger a slight ringing in my right ear. T...
Pros and Cons of built-in amps?
Hi Usarrn, I concur in that the AML-1's can be considered as a bargain for their price in that we are getting so many things in one box and still able to save money on exotic speaker cables. This can be said for other good active speakers such as ...
Reference level cables that are 10-years old? buy?
i find the older synergistic cables prefereable to the current production cables. the older cables are more forgiving, more balanced and not overly focused. i find the tesla cables analytical. So much for "new technology".
Pros and Cons of built-in amps?
Thanks for the tip Usarrn. Actually, I have toyed around the idea of transforming my PMC LB1 Signatures into active speakers a while back as one of the forummers in Audiocircle suggested that it might work by removing the passive crossover in the ...
Pros and Cons of built-in amps?
Ussarn,Have you managed to compare the AML-1 active to the TB2S-A? I have noticed a few comments by AML-1 users and those who have heard these speakers and the larger active ones. According to them, once we listen to active speakers, it will be ex...
classe, bryston fully balanced?
I've posted a thread in Audiocircle regarding this issue and this is the only link that James Tanner had provided :-http://www.bryston.ca/newsletters/31_files/vol3is1.htmlIs Your System Out Of Balance? The question which keeps coming up over and o...

Why Can't Tubes Be Mass-Produced Cheaply?
Thanks for all responses. Now I understand why tubes manufactured in the 'golden' era can no longer be the same again. Sometimes it strikes my mind that in an event the old tubes come to an extinction, there has got to be a source to produce quali...

New room problems?
Yes, the good thing about towels is that they are free short-term solution to test things out. Sorry about that CKoffend as I forgot to mention that. There are many products out there and some of them are indeed quite costly. Actually, you can try...
New room problems?
My room dimensions are almost similiar to yours at 11'x17'x8'. With your speakers on the short wall, it would be worthwhile to do something about the side walls. Forget about cables, they won't help even a bit before you successfully address room ...
Krell 400xi vs NAD M3 vs Music Fidelity A5 vs Naim
It didn't hurt my opinion of the Krell when I saw a salesman drop on its corner a 400Xi from belly high onto a solid concrete floor. He looked extremely pained - even somehow cut his hand when it slid out and his boss walked in. He picked it up. Y...
Spendor S9e or ProAc Response D28
Have you addressed room issues? The room is one important component, more so if one listens at high volume levels. If the room is not an issue then only you should proceed to look into replacing the 703's. However, if room acoustics are not proper...
