Reel to Reel Otari still builds the 5050.
Sub output: Is it the woofer size or the rated RMS And I suppose she's an expert on........subs.
Reel to Reel Reel to reel can be fun to play around with. I was recently given an Otari 5050 pro deck. But RTR makes playing records seem as easy a playing a CD.
Sub output: Is it the woofer size or the rated RMS A large driver in a large cabinet needs less power to produce deep bass. A small driver in a small cabinet must have huge amounts of power and much further excursion to produce deep bass. A small driver may seem like it would produce faster bass b...
Jethro Tull questions... That's better.
Driving 1 ohm I wasn't recommending anything just defining a high current amp.The Zero Impedance device looks like an autoformer or a similar device. It doesn't seem like something an OTL amplifier design would promote.
Jethro Tull questions... What you mean up to PP? Passion Play is great.
Driving 1 ohm A true high current amp will double it's output as speaker impedence halves. Some of the early Krells would double their load all the way to .5ohms. Some of the Apoggees were .5ohms.
Jethro Tull questions... Aqualung will probably never sound good since it was recorded badly. Heavy Horses is one of the best sounding albums as is Crest of A Knave, Broadsword and Stand Up. The MoFi releases are better than the new remasters, at least the ones I have are.
Power Amps with High Current or High Damping The ability to double an amps power as the impedence of a speaker is halved is an example of a high current amp.
Power Amps with High Current or High Damping Damping factor is a highly over rated spec. Krell amps have low damping factors but no one considers them poor in regard to bass control. High current is a consideration.
Driving 1 ohm It depends on how loudly you play the amp.
why does the bass change on my velodyne dls-5000 First of all, you cannot run cables to both inputs at the same time on the sub. You could damage it and/or your preamp/processor. When you use the LFE input you are using the crossover in your processor. Therefore it will be controlled by the proc...

SACD News Emerson Lake & Palmer Yes, I have it but haven't really sat down to listen but a random playing while doing other things proved disappointing. But, I'll give it another chance. |
