What are fuses used for? Thank you very much.
What are fuses used for? Where do you put the fuse????
New power cord needed for speaker with powered subwoofer? Mrdecibel,Yes, I did hear a difference using the MAP4’s. I just wasn’t sure if the same results would apply with the subwoofer cords. From two reports above by Agoners who have my speakers, evidently it’s worth getting the aftermarket cords.
One speaker observation from the New York Hifi show. I’m very happy you brought this topic up. I never would have known why I was missing that component. Now I have to figure out a way to not let that knowledge drive me crazy!
One speaker observation from the New York Hifi show. GoldenEar’s speaker positioning recommendation is “8 inches or more from the wall behind the speaker” for balanced bass.No mention is made concerning front to back imaging.Strange.
Classical Music for Aficionados Interestingly, I just A-B ed Qubuz and IDAGIO in the same non hi-res selection and found the IDAGIO had slightly better SQ. I don’t know why.You can try it yourself to see if you up with the same results.
One speaker observation from the New York Hifi show. I can actually arrest that you’re right. A friend of mine who has the same speakers, but places them further from the back wall definitely has more front to back imaging than I do. I was wondering why. You’ve answered my question.Thank you.Iron...
One speaker observation from the New York Hifi show. Twoleftears,You could well be right about distancing the speakers further from the wall, but it’s not feasible in my situation.Meanwhile, I’m experiencing really good imaging the way it is.
Classical Music for Aficionados Jim,The main situation with me is that, digitally I have many thousands of CD’s that sound great with my DAC. Also, almost as many records (that sound even better.) So most of my listening is not from streaming. I still buy CD’s even though the s...
Speakers positionning All I can say is, that wasn’t my experience at this show.Maybe I’m going deaf.
One speaker observation from the New York Hifi show. Newbee,i have my speakers about three feet from the back wall, but, because I have a large room (25x23) I have plenty of room from the side walls. As you say, the major reason for toeing in is to avoid interaction with the side walls.
Classical Music for Aficionados Eventually, I suppose I’ll have to get a DAC that supports higher resolution.
Classical Music for Aficionados Jim,Yes, it’s just CD quality which is ideal for me in that my DAC is only designed for that. BUT, IDAGIO has so much more content and wonderful search engines. There are many, many wonderful recordings out there with terrific sound not in hi def.
Speakers positionning I agree with niodari. I was just at the New York Hifi show, and perhaps because of the size of the rooms, all speakers were toed in, most severely. The result was very little precise imaging. Everything tended to come from one central spot betwee...
Classical Music for Aficionados Just downloaded Qubuz. Really meager for classical music lovers.Tidal is much better. But IDAGIO leaves them both in the dust. |
