Does Anyone Think CD is Better Than Vinyl/Analog? "...I think it costs too much to get a system to play LP's to the level of CD's..."I think this is true, a really good LP rig is going to be expensive. A high end cartridge and phono-pre might cost as much as a decent CD player.

Better speakers I don't know what happened but when I said Dr. Toole never made a statement loudspeaker, that usually sets off the pure measurement guys.
Why aren't there better speakers out there? Speaker design is not pure engineering it’s also part art. Arnie Nudell had the chops in both areas and his products were/are superb. Dr. Toole has no statement loudspeakers to claim, he only has half the requirements.
Does Anyone Think CD is Better Than Vinyl/Analog? I'm a big fan of concept albums. The CD offers the ability to play both sides of a album recorded for a LP without pause. That is the attraction of digital for me. Is one better than the other? I don't know but I'm sure I'll die with the CD as my ...

Amp recommendations "... But my concern is then having an amp that’s underpowered (25 watts RMS) for my 90dB speakers..."You need a more powerful amp, no question about it and it will perk up your system but please save the 300B if you can and use it for a second sy...
Anyone ditch the sub after large speaker purchase? On many large full range systems you can turn off the subs and not miss very much or anything. If you want 15Hz low organ notes you might want to turn the sub back on...maybe.
What is the name of the tool? VU meters are a guess at best. Watts are frequency dependent and the real measurement includes the frequency and distortion levels, This requires expensive testing equipment. I have had amps with and without power meters and to tell you the truth,...
receiver or preamp I ran a receiver (as a pre-amp) and separate amp many years ago when I was just starting out. It worked pretty good but when I finally bought a separate pre-amp it was a big step up. You have a nice little amp and a good pre-amp would make it shin...
