Toe-In or Toe-Out Crossing just in front of your head or just behind your head is still toe-in not toe-out. I have never heard any loudspeaker in the toe-out position.

Better Sounding Systems, Objectivists or Subjectivists? There are certain people that cannot be objective about what they see or hear. You can show them a red flag and they will say it’s blue. Nothing will convince them that the flag is red. There is no evidence they will accept. It’s the people that a...
More expensive = better? It depends. If it's a better match to your system it's going to sound good, if it's not a good match your results might be mixed.

I need your opinions on a McIntosh Amp If I was matching amps to loudspeakers I would pass on the BigMac and match the B&Ws with a Parasound A21+. It will give those loudspeakers a little flavor the Mac just doesn't have.
Is DSP room correction worth it with a high end analog system? Room correction is not a cure all. Good hi-fi systems have been in operation long before room correction was possible. Does every system need room correction? I think no but things can always be improved...in most cases.

Down To The Crunch No option to audition these? nope, but the reviews have then neck & neck. There are class a loudspeakers and there are class a loudspeakers. A Kef LS-50 isn't going to sound as good as a Genisis Prime but it's rated class a by Atkinson....

Dang it, I'm Deaf.... russ, can you please describe how the cochlear implant makes music sound? I have the latest and greatest implant from Cochlear America. It sounds like a cheap transistor radio with a bad signal and a busted speaker with speech by a robot. "hy...
What are your favorite recordings that sound best to you? My best sounding albums are the audiophile specialty recordings like the Mapleshade label or Sheffield Labs. But it may not be the best music or performance, that is a different subject. |
