Does size really matter? :-
Hmm,It's late at night, and I can't verify that I read every word of every post above, so apologies if I missed someone else pointing this out, but the dimensions of the stylus is nearly irrelevant. Only the tip of the stylus enters the groove. Se...

Arm lift options beside Stylift
Aha,I see. The TonaL uses a magnet, which is brought into close proximity to another magnet on the tonearm when the tonearm contacts the bent wire that causes the lifting devices pivot arm with the magnet on the end to lower towards the tonearms c...
Arm lift options beside Stylift
Ronnie, it looks interesting, I'll admit. I don't actually see from the picture how it would work though. I also don't understand the price. P4,250? What does that mean?If you can explain all this, I might buy one. :-)I'll also mention, re: the St...
Arm lift options beside Stylift
Okay,I just picked up an Audio Technica Safety Raiser, as well as the Thorens. It seems, that's about it to end this thread. The Thorens fits on my Oracle just perfectly. Amazing the prices these things fetch. Also amazing I gave my previous Thoren...

Actually, you could adjust the Thorens for a soft lift, something that's not possible with the stylift. If you actually still have your Thorens, look at the spring adjustments. Also, place the lifting lever close to the bottom of the arm height.Tha...
Record Stabilizer on a Suspension Table?
I had a Thorens TD 160 Super before I bought my current Oracle MKV. Way before, like when they sold them new, and I didn't have enough money for an Oracle. I took the spindle out of my Thorens and brought it to a machine shop and had them machine ...

Gallo Reference 3 stand bracket question

Warped Records
Interesting thread. I too have had slight warps in some recent purchases. I use the Oracle clamp and spindle washer, and, mostly, am able to get rid of the warps, or diminish them, so I can ignore them. Maybe we shouldn't be ignoring any defective...

Gallo Reference 3 stand bracket question
Matthew,I used the 4's, but think the 3's would work equally well, depending on whether you wanted more warmth, or detail out of your speakers. Dave
Vandersteen Quattro review in Stereophile
As stated above, cabinetry adds most sygnificantly to the cost. This is one reason Vandersteens ahave always been such a huge bargain in terms of "sound" for dollar value. YOu pay for the sound, not the cabinet. Take a look at the cost difference ...
Gallo REfF3's-All their cracked up to be?
Dave,What did you use for the sides of the stands to mount the speaker spikes into? Do you have a part number for the feet too? I didn't see the rounded point models at Parts Express, though I was blown away by their real world prices. How refresh...
