Amps on top?
Things got very crowded after the divorce shrank my listening room.      The amps were on top, until I started Jonesing for my vinyls and TT.       Had the scrap metal, 1/2" Corian, a huge granite leveling table, mill, lathe and welder at h...
Phase Linear
" ...please stop the belly-aching."                          It stopped almost ten years ago.                                      Read the dates!
How To Keep Cat Off Stereo Equipment?
Adopt (or borrow) a constricting reptile (ie: either Boa or python, preferably over six feet in length) and don't feed it.                     Within a day or two: your cat will be well, "trained".
How To Keep Cat Off Stereo Equipment?
@ltmandella-      Rabbits may be, "smart", BUT- not enough to avoid eating AC cords and electrocuting themselves, as my daughter’s did decades back.      They’ll munch on anything they can get their teeth around (from experience/observation).  N...

Oh and get rid of the reverberations in the room.                               Couldn't agree more!                  Room treatment = absolute necessity
What record cleaner is the most bang for the buck??
Bought a VPI 16 in the 80's, for cleaning every new/unwashed vinyl.    Worked well until 2008.                                        Been using a 16.5, since.         Of course: every record also got/gets Discwasher spins, before each play....
Why a dearth of some brands on the used market?
@bluethinker66-  It did take some tweaking from my original purchases to get things "right" though.                                                      Of course!     One good aspect of buying cabling from known/reputable/highly regarded com...
Why a dearth of some brands on the used market?
Personally: Finding something that works well in my system(provides enhanced musical enjoyment/makes reproduction more realistic), insures it's retention.
What is the proper loudness for listening?
How LARGE do you like your music?      Unless a system can cleanly reproduce all the information (well engineered/recorded in an environment with good acoustics and mic placement) in a quality cut, to the original/int...
FAVORITE POWER CABLE under $100 (1M)
@larseand -       You could try a variety of PCs via the Cable Company's Lending Library, for small rental fees, which would be applied to any purchase(s).        They do have a few that fit your requirements/budget constraints:     https://www...
FAVORITE POWER CABLE under $100 (1M)
@carlsbad  & @mbolek (et alia)-        It's dismaying, the number of those that refuse* to acknowledge the blatant facts & obvious truths regarding energy, inflation and the commie agenda.             JUST POLITICS?     NO (it's our c...
Food: What does the typical audiophile eat?
OK, so: I never followed up on the guano-based teas or salad dressing, over the past 15 years.      However: my research has revealed what may be the best reason extant, for the mass consumption of cheeses and yogurt.                        ...
Does anyone know where this J. Gordon Holt comes from?
He's been dead fourteen years and his perspectives trouble you?      I'd formed/held those same opinions, years before his first article.                        It was good to finally see them in print.
Stupid Asking Prices- Why Don't Sellers Read Audiogon The Blue Book First?
"I’m perplexed as to why a seller does not consider the reliable Audiogon Blue Book as a guide..."      Isn’t the AudiogoN Blue Book a pay-to-play (gotta have a subscription/membership) affair?                                          My guess...
