Active crossover for 804S and Rythmik subs?
Hello Lacee- There is no adjustment available for the Hi-Pass. The goal of the design was transparency and phase coherency, where it's most critical. I really can't imagine why any adjustment, other than the crossover point(determined by the cap a...
upgraded fuse holder
The type of spring clip, PCB mount fuse holders you need; seem to be nonexistent in silver or gold plate. It would be nice if the metals of which they are comprised, were better conductors. Unfortunately; metals that conduct well don't have the ab...

Active crossover for 804S and Rythmik subs?
There's one on eBay: ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dahlquist-DQ-LP1-Active-Passive-Subwoofer-Crossover-/221445734709?pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item338f31c135 )
The Power of Assumptions
@M- My statement: "The fact may be that a vast number are weak-minded enough, to ALLOW their hopes, assumptions and preconceived notions cloud their ability to objectively or accurately judge what they hear." That has nothing whatever to do with w...
Active crossover for 804S and Rythmik subs?
One of the most transparent HI/LO pass filters available, since the 80's, is the Dahlquist DQ-LP1. The High-Pass is passive, the Lo-Pass active. One of the advantages; there is just one capacitor(and perhaps a resistor in parallel, if needed to ma...
The Power of Assumptions
AND- I suppose if one believes(and consistently reinforces their assumptions) that all amplifiers sound alike, improved cabling makes no audible differences, and so on: THEIR brain will, "chemically and electrically" adjust itself to make those th...
Hafler XL600 Vs Hafler 9505 Much difference?
Wish I knew someone competent, and close to you, that I could recommend. If you lived in Indiana; I'd help you myself. In reality; one only need be able to use a screwdriver, to replace the filter capacitors(in the 9505). No soldering involved. Ju...
Hafler XL600 Vs Hafler 9505 Much difference?
I'm guessing you didn't check out the link that I provided. (F)ast (R)ecovery (E)pitaxial (D)iode It's been my experience, that their being substituted for common bridge rectifiers, eliminates much grain/noise from gain circuits, resulting in a mo...
Hafler XL600 Vs Hafler 9505 Much difference?
Should have mentioned; those caps are slightly(10%) over the stock uF value, very low ESR and long life. You can further improve your 9505's presentation, with a pair of these(easy to install) FRED bridges: (http://datasheet.octopart.com/VBE17-06N...
Hafler XL600 Vs Hafler 9505 Much difference?
Chances are good that what you're hearing as a, "bass problem" with the 9505, is a case of expiring power supply filter caps. I've been using mine to power the bottom of my actively bi-amped system, for a number of years. My filter caps went south...

PCX is having a sale on these Siemens tubes(http://www.partsconnexion.com/71480.html), if you are into a very clean sound(no added warmth). They've got a variety of other NOS tubes to choose from, as well.
Telefunken Black Diamond E88CC / 6922
"The TELEFUNKEN Black Diamond Series tubes are built in the JJ Electronic Factory in Eastern Europe based on their existing models." Then they are tested, cryo'd, burned in, etc. In other words, they are specially treated JJ tubes.
Interesting bilind testing of Stradivarius Violin
Like any other listening test. Totally subjective!
