Does Plugging Bass Port Affect Pace, Rhythm and Timing?
If you want to experiment, go to a fabric shop and buy some Bonded Dacron(polyester batting).   You can then control the vent function, by varying the amount of Dacron(tight or loose wrap/longer shorter roll) in the tube.  1" to 1 1/2"  thick work...
Directional?
What Audioquest(et al) think(s): https://www.audioquest.com/theory-education/article/83-directionality-its-all-about-noise Possibly part of the reason OCC(Ohno Constant Crystal) wire is so popular, in the industry's better cabling.
HiFi room acoustic treatment
I treated the walls of my shoppe in Florida, behind the listening position, with a treatment similar to what you're describing.   Don't know what color you're looking for, but: I found that simple burlap, over 2" of rock wool, stapled to the strip...
Phono stage
If you’re able to solder, upgrading the GCPH’s power supply, will make a major improvement in it’s presentation. Especially in it’s dynamics(slam) and textural reproduction(cleaner sound, all around) Replace the rectifiers with(http://www.partscon...
Moving coil and Moving magnet really the same for my cartridge?
47K is what Hana recommends, as the("suggested load") impedance for their HOMC(SH). The output(2mV) will work with some MM stages, depending on your SPL desires and the rest of your system’s gain. http://www.the-ear.net/review-hardware/hana-eh-and...
Reasonably Priced Fuse Upgrade for Magnepan 3.7?
@georgehifi - " Better still, put some copper wire in place of your fuse and don’t overdrive your speaker, many speakers (even planers and ESL’s) don’t have fuses." Better yet(what I’ve always done with Maggies, while installing WBT 5 ways), unscr...
Vacuum Tube Retailer Option
@wolf_garcia - I have to admit: I never had any issues either, with anything that I purchased from, "Uppity Audio". Kevin was my go-to guy, for a couple decades. I especially loved the NOS Sylvania 6550’s he used to(alas) stock. Great products and...
How Is MQA Fareing?
Thanks for those thoughts. Lately, the only info I found was this: https://www.stereophile.com/content/mqa-tested-part-2-fold
Does It have to be loud?
Tastes in music listening vary as widely as tastes in food and drink, or anything else imaginable. After five decades of listening to more live music(every genre/studio/auditorium/outdoor/two or three times a week/two to four hours a pop) than hom...
Reasonably Priced Fuse Upgrade for Magnepan 3.7?
@cjwessing - I’ve always wondered about fancy fuses in speakers, though I’ve been using them in all my other components, for years(my Maggies always get bypassed). Please, come back and tell us how those worked out for you(any audible differences).
Magnepan Owners
@bluesy41-   I have little doubt, that the Verastarr kit would yield better sound.    That kit accomplishes the same goal as the internal bypass trick, but, still leaves four, inferior metal, connection points(at the fuse and jumper ends), betwee...
speaker and seating position for magnepans
Hanging anything soft(blankets, curtains, etc)in your room, is bound to affect something, soundwise. Various thicknesses, shapes and densities of foam, are chosen to target certain frequency ranges. ie: I chose the 2’ X 4’, 4" pyramid foam, to dif...

Reasonably Priced Fuse Upgrade for Magnepan 3.7?
You might find something applicable here: http://www.partsconnexion.com/fuse_hifituning_gold_main.html  For the money, you might try the 2A value on the tweeters, just to see if there's a discernible difference.
speaker and seating position for magnepans
@wipespreadpanic- Experimentation, in this arena, is always the best(or- necessary) course, given how listening tastes vary so widely. Have fun!
