Cartridge protractor- the best? Anything that doesn't have a nail point that rests on the pivot point is useless as far as precise alignment is concerned. Buy the Feickert . The Geo disc is a joke for precise alignment.
Amps for Sasha Your better off with the XA series. I run XA 100.5's with WP 8's. Great match.
I just got back into analog..... You may want to consider the Shelter Harmony cart if your considering Koetsu. It's very musical and a little easier to drive. .5mV versus .3mV with the koetsu. Imo, you need to step up to a stone body koetsu (considerably more expensive) to compet...

PS Audio Perfect Wave DAC without the transport 04-28-11: 2chnlbenOh how I wish I had a nice analog setup. More than that, Rockitman, I wish I had the time to enjoy one. My wife and kids pretty much dictate what my schedule is. In my case, a music server is the ideal setup and the PS-A Bridge i...
King of the Non oversampling DAC's? Lavry /Kondo ? I hear what you are saying 11flat6. I have been ripping DVD Audio discs to hi-rez wavs. Most have been 24/96. Some have said the rez was 24/192 on the label(Chicago II) only to find out using a DVD ripper that the MLP files were only 24/96. The DV...
King of the Non oversampling DAC's? Lavry /Kondo ? More and more source material is coming out at higher sampling frequencies than 24/96. Why would you want to spend that much money on a DAC that can't playback (properly) higher sampling frequencies ? To each there own. As far as a comparo wiht a ...
Best Integrated amp for Wilson Audio Sasha As a Watt/Puppy 8 user, the lastest W/P incarnation prior to Sasha, I would never consider an inetgrated. Not sure what your amp budget is, but I would consider a higher power separate power amp either stereo or of mono block type. I used to drive...
King of the Non oversampling DAC's? Lavry /Kondo ? The failure of both DAC's to handle 24/192 bit depth/sampling rate is enough for me to pass on them. I have 24/192 sources. Wouldn't sound as good at 24/96 downsampled. At the price of the Lavry, I would buy the Berkeley Audio Design DAC that can ...
Sonus Faber Amati Futura At $34,000/pair, I'm sure they are wonderful speakers. Not too many reviews yet on the web, here's one I found in case you didn't see it.http://www.monoandstereo.com/2011/03/sonus-faber-amati-futura-reviewpreview.html
PS Audio Perfect Wave DAC without the transport Hi 2chnlben,The convenience of music access via the bridge is certainly a benefit. I too have close to 3000 CD's. I don't relish the idea of all the time it will take to rip and catalogue them all, especially when close to 2000 are non studio live...
PS Audio Perfect Wave DAC without the transport Even though I only have the PWT and not bridge, I'm still not convinced they sound the same....and that the PWT sounds better from the various discussion by owners of both on the PSA Discussion Bd. ie:ItÂ’s been a while since I heard 2.08 such that...
What Mobile Fidelity lp or cd is your fav ? For me,it's my mint MFSL UHQR version of Supertramp Crime of the Century
Best format for SteelyDan... MFSL version of Katy Lied sounds pretty darn good even with the master recording issue of dbx versus dolby. Very expensive to get a copy on fleabay. I think I paid near $150.00 for a NM copy last month. I was also in an auction for a SS copy and i...
PS Audio Perfect Wave DAC without the transport Hi Mekong56,Irregardless of what Paul says, I don't think they sound indentical (splitting hairs perhaps)...how could they ? The music reaches the DAC in a different way ie: Server/Bridge vs. PWT). I agree...what one hears on one system may not ne... |
