What is the best OTL out there?
@ michaela: I have used original Julius Futterman OTL's successfully with Quad 57's and KLH Nines. I presently have a Harvard Music stereo and a pair of H3AA's. The 6HB5 and 6LF6 TV sweep tubes Julius used as outputs could handle 1.5 amps of curre...

Nature of Koetsu carts
I doubt that Koetsu MC's would have remained popular if they had "boring" midrange sound! You can't really go wrong with any of them!
DO CABLES REALLY MATTER?
Here's what esteemed reviewer Herb Reichert wrote in Listener (early '90's): "Wire is like a condom. If it works everything is fine. If not ..."
Best vintage amps (late 70s / early 80s) under $3k?
Here's a real sleeper: the Brown Electronic Labs BEL 1001. Designed and hand-built over the years by EE Richard Brown at his home in California. I have his very first one (serial no. 0001). A favorite of HP's at TAS around 1980 and considered refe...
