Newbie -- expert thoughts on PA2400 vs GFA5400?
If you can snag an H/K Signature 2.1 for $500, do it! It is a very high-current design and sounds marvelous. You could easily use that amp for a year and then sell it for what you paid...Happy New Year!!-RW-
Need efficient floor-stander for 2a3
Never mind, Google answered my question - d'oh!! As for hi-efficiency speakers, the Zu Audio and Cain & Cain offerings elicit high praise. I would look there for something suitable...-RW-

Not considerin3D,isn't AV market rather stagnant?
I think the AV industry has clearly hit the point of diminishing returns. As you mentioned, who really *needs* a 4k picture? The only folks who would actually need this technology are the ones who sit 5 feet away from their 120" screen - puh-lease...
audiophile rockers
I second the Knopfler recommendation, Saliing... and Shangri-La do sound exquisite, especially in surround...-RW-
Bob Carver 180 Mono-blocks perform superbly
Negative feedback, transformers? Ummm, no thanks. I'll stick with my BK Butler designed and built TDB-5150. BK's designs are revolutionary and the build quality is superb.www.ButlerAudio.com-RW-
Newbie Question on Arcam
If you can hold out for a whole, probably 6 months, Emotiva will be releasing the XMC-1 pre-processor. COuple that with a good-quality multi-channel amp and you will have a system that will trounce the Arcam and every other receiver out there...-RW-
Pros and Cons of "Staying with" Analog and Vinyl
I have adopted digital wholeheartedly. As you mention, the noise inherent in vinyl has become a distraction to me. And the newer 24-bit DVD and BluRay based music sound absolutely fantastic, especially in 5.1 format...-RW-
alternative to maggies?
The Gallo Reference series are very good speakers and throw up a very lifelike soundstage. Additionally, unlike the Maggies, their dispersion is much greater resulting in a much wider sweet-spot. Read the reviews, these are world-class speakers......
power cable length importance
I'm with SnoFun on this. How the last couple of feet for a transmission line that is probably miles long could make any difference is a mystery to me...-RW-
UCube USB speakers
Thanks for that, I know someone who could use these.-RW-
audiophile rockers
Porcupine Tree's and Steven Wilson's albums are always produced with very high sound quality. And Porcupine Tree is phenomenal in concert, some of the best live sound I have ever heard - their sound man is a genius!-RW-
Newbie -- expert thoughts on PA2400 vs GFA5400?
I used to have an H/K Signature 2.1 amp (110 watts per ch, 5 ch.) and really liked the sound of that amp. And now it seems I should have kept it, used ones go for $850 on Amazon - I sold mine for $500 a couple years ago.The Signature amp is better...
Good 2.0 speakers subwooferless
You want a less than 6" tall speaker and would like it to have some bass output? Good luck with that...-RW-
