Any Paradigm CC290 owners?
If the 290 is a timbre match and your 450 is not, why not put a 290 there and be happy? FWIW, I use a CC-350 as the center with Gallo Dues as the Fronts and it sounds pretty good to me...-RW-

TV 1080P resolution
And keep in mind that 1080 is 1080, whether it is interlaced or progressive. You will not see any differences unless you have a very large screen (> 80") or sit *very* close...Do not sweat this insignificant specification.-RW-

Power On First/Off Last Device?
I fail to see why it makes much of a difference at all what order you use for turning equipment on and off. If you're worried about power-on transients, simply turn the volume pot on your preamp all the way down while turning the equipment on and ...
Small monitors/bookshelves for classical music
If you like the KEF "sound" (and it is a VERY good sound), you probably should consider a pair of KEF 103.2s. They will be used, but I've seen several pair here for right around $300/pr. I think these are some of the nicest bookshelf-type speakers...

You would use the 2-ch. and/or the 5.1-ch abalog outputs into your Rotel. The 2-ch. setup will be using the Oppo's awesome Sabre DACS, the 5.1 side will be using their Cirrus Logic (I think) DACs. Either way, the Oppo will be doing the DAC work, t...
