Traffic "John Barleycorn Must Die" - Why no mfsl
Yes I agree that MFSL and DCC made some very strange choices for reissue. One explanation for some titles not making it on these labels is there could have been licensing problems with the owners of copyright. I believe these labels negotiated for...
GNSC PASI Units?
Tabl10s, I did not notice a drop in volume. I had Bybee filters on everything when I bought the PASI. As I experimented with the system I found that it sounded more open with the Bybees removed. Just my personal opinion, I would definitely experim...
Have you heard the new Zanden digital gear?
James1969, this is essentially in line with what I have read about the Zanden. What are you using for a transport?
What music do you want to play really loud?

Eric Clapton covers Robert Johnson
I like my acoustic blues on the raw side and although I respect ECs ability, guitar more than vocal, he has a tendency to be smooooth. This tendency has the effect, at least for me, of homogenizing what should be a gritty experience. The devils mu...
what are gold cd's
IMO: The gold was a marketing gimmick. Most gold CDs were released by MFSL and DCC. In many cases they do sound better than their aluminum cousins but not because of the gold. They were generally remastered from original tapes by some great master...
GNSC PASI Units?

Question re Celtic/Irish/Chieftains music
One of the early Solas Cds might do the trick.
Your 5 Fav Rock Concerts
Saw The Doors twice, great both times. Country Joe and the Fish put on a nice concert, at least what I could remember through all the smoke. Ricki Lee Jones was fantastic!
Coping in an Age of Uncertainty
Brianmgrarcom, You're certainly welcome to your opinion. I am not attempting to start an argument or change anyone elses opinions, I was merely expressing my opinion on this thread. If you like CDs; great, I'm glad you're happy. I have to admit a ...
Coping in an Age of Uncertainty
I have difficulty deciding whether all this format stuff is a marketing ploy or an actual technologic break through. Figure, the resolution of cd compared to vinyl (despite other drawbacks) is not an improvement at all. Is that what we're doing, t...

Does balanced interconnect sound beter than RCA?
This is just my experience with equipment I have owned. Yes, balanced does sound better. May I suggest trying the same cable both in balanced and single ended? You could do this through the cable company loan program. Has aleays worked well for me.
