Intriguing inquiry, are floor-stand speakers always better than active speakers?
I can try and fill MC’s role if you like? @holmz - you just be you mate. Oh my word. And you could use the valve springs if you had the correct mass loading for them to achieve <4Hz isolation. If you haven’t tried good isolation on your spea...
Looks like PS Audio has a hit on their hands with the new speaker
@asvjerry - rounds 1, 2 and 3 sold out already? Waiting to virtually September for them to ship. Now that’s patience. I’ll go suss out the video, cheers mate.

@preston8452 - yeah I’d read that about it being available for the Raspberry Pi. It’s just that my hardware is possibly better than the Silent Angel hardware, and I have already got it. 8Watt Intel dual core commercial integrated CPU on mainboar...

Yes for 99% of the time a quality separate amplifier is of much higher quality then a low cost class d amp in a active speaker I wonder how long it's going to be until we start to see GaN Class D in active self amplified speakers? GaN is surpr...

@asvjerry - have you found info/photos of the innards, the guts (I'm Aussie) of these speakers? Please share?

@preston8452 - I just did a little reading on the Silent Angel Rhein Z1. How are you liking VitOS and the VitOS Manager? What are you using to control your Rhein Z1?
Frequency Response
There’s been many threads about using multiple subs in a DBA (distributed bass array). You might want to look that up. There’s also digital means of integrating the sub/s into the system, to help it be more seamless. Not seem less. As there is st...
VM-1a: New RAAL SR1a Headphone amp
What are you using as a source into the DAC? Sorry if you've covered this in other threads, you have some nice equipment. Mr. Curious
Power Conditioning on the Cheap
There are two transformers in a Puritan PSM-152 to allow free flowing amperes. Fused circuit protection, banks of capacitors to remove DC effectively. Two stage individual shunting inductors that shunt high frequency hash from both the active and ...

@emailists I like the BHK signature amps, are you using the BHK pre? Thanks for the heads up. Are those passive radiators on the sides? Would be interesting to hear what they can do, and yes as stereo5 wrote, it will be interesting the results.
Subwoofer between speakers?
@immatthewj - I have my dual opposed firing sub facing crossways (30 degrees) in my room, between and to the left side of my standmounts. Since I’ve installed the quadratic diffusers, I’ve unplugged the sub and rarely use it. It’s crossed so low ...
Bi-amping
@fiesta75 - yes, an active circuit is a completely different animal. Where the signal is truncated before amplification. There are benefits depending on the drivers used to band pass lower frequencies even to the bass driver. If you meant activel...
Bi-amping
And for that an electronic x-over is necessary. So your stand, if I understand you correctly @jasonbourne52 an electronic crossover, as in any crossover designed to pass on an alternating electrical current? What? The speakers are designed and ...
N.P.I. What is it?
+1 mikelavigne I heard a mono track in his room and it was an extremely good recording, and playback was truly involving. I will say however, that nothing prepared me for ML reel to reel playback - my goodness! Go look at his system page, serious...
Anyone else here interested in, or built, or even heard Folded Well Diffusers??
@brunomarcs - yes great idea and yes. Don't forget to use the Golden ratio for room acoustics
