TonTräger stands look good.@arthur1260 - these? SS-6 | Vintage Hi-Fi Speaker Stands
What’s the relationship between gain (dB) and power (watts)?
Resistance is the term used to denote the opposition to the flow of current in a circuit or material. It depends on the resistivity and dimensions of the material. The resistance offered by a material to the flow of direct current and alternating ...
What’s the relationship between gain (dB) and power (watts)?
Very simplified electrical info following:One can think of voltage as electrical pressure (or potential force), resistance somewhat like a valve that restricts flow, and amperage as the physical amount of electron flow, for the sake of a simplifie...

@arthur1260 - scratch the idea of using open cell foam on the front of your stands, I just tried it with 4" foam from the floor to base of speakers, it didn’t make any noticeable difference. And my stands when I rap my knuckles on them they ring a...

@pack66184 - why? Because they actually work?
Boy, Oh Boy! Towshend!
The Podiums are, of course, designed to decouple the speakers from the floor, but when speakers are placed on stands, there will be some vibration between them. So even if the Podiums have their intended effect, they obviously can’t prevent intera...

@edgyhassle - I suspect (it is a guess, I will admit) that the bars do such a significantly effective job with your heavy speakers, that the small increase in performance the podiums may represent would not represent the bang for buck you have mad...

@arthur1260 I use springs on my stand mounts, and it makes a very significant difference. You could use Blu-Tack to secure the flat bottoms of your stands on the podiums, or drill tap and bolt them once you’re satisfied they are the bump in perform...

SPL in your room, in your sitting position is also largely contributed to by the room itself. There is a phenomenon called cabin gain or the "transfer function", I am going to quote from car audio information. Have you ever wondered why car audi...

I’ve been using Blu-Tack for at least a decade. Yes it’s good, very good.+1 audioguy85However I would absolutely use it in conjunction with isolation methods, such as well engineered Townshend products.@millercarbon - this is something you aught t...

Seems you have your answers... Happy shopping!
Why audiophiles are different (explained with color)
Any attempt in enlightenment which attains group consensus... is inherently incorrect. And if I happen to disagree, does that confirm the statement is true? :-)I do think it depends a great deal on a qualified sample group. @teo_audio - interest...
Cut lower frequency to help my bookshelf speakers
@aurgolo - metric, nice, you're speaking my language. That's a good sized room, depending on the ceiling height it's not a bad proportion either. Decent size for a floor stander, it would take a pretty exceptional stand mount and amplifier combo t...
