Totem Arro: Do I have enough power?
A small room and I doubt you are going to be "rocking the house", I think you've made a very good choice. I have been personally impressed by the large image that these very small speakers produce. If you do intend on playing loud, then more effic...
Speaker/Room help needed
Foreverhifi has already said it: "the room is at least half of the equation." Of course, being in the business of designing rooms, we have believed this from the very beginning and feel that too many audiophiles are being robbed by their room. The...
MicroMega Transport Help
I had the Drive 2 and the lubricant was the problem. I just cleaned the rails with a lint free cloth and a small amount of denatured alcohol. I used a very fine teflon lubricant which worked very well.
why go against REL setup recommendation?
Down firing subs, particularly heavy ones do not benefit much from spikes. Spikes benefit speakers when there is latteral excursion (front firing). This is why spikes make such a big difference for standard speakers, they couple the speakers more ...
How well does the VPI 16.5 work??
I debated a long time before I bought one. Now I just laugh at myself for waiting so long to get one. It is by far one of the most significant changes in listening to vinyl. I had always cleaned my records--but not like the VPI does. You can reall...
Upper midrange glare prominence --
Two areas need to be addressed. The first is speaker placement including toe in. We have a tutorial on our site at the http://www.rivesaudio.com/listroom. Go to speaker placement and you can download a short white paper on some of our philosophies...

Wish I was in town that day--it sounds great!
Diffusers vs Room Lens
It depends on the room. Each have different acoustical properties. Some rooms will benefit from one or the other or both. However, almost all rooms need some level of mid-band diffusion (there are exceptions of course).
Classe owners: balanced vs. unbalanced?
I have older classe equipment and think it works very well balanced. For a 25 foot run I would almost certainly select balanced--that's really very long to try to run single ended.
room treatments? is it the room that's bright?
Sorry to enter the discussion so late, but I was travelling last week. I've said this before in other discussions, but you have 2 approaches. One is a trial and error, which is not as bad as it might sound for the basics, the other is to hire a gr...
Help with
This is not an easy one to answer. Let me break it down into general terms--which may or may not be applicable to your system--it's almost impossible to know.Brightness can be caused by a variety of things, the problem is that not all of those thi...
What are you powering your Martin Logans with????
Bi-amped with Levinson Reference 20s and Krell KMA 160s I have tried quite a few amps with the Monoliths (these are modified by the way) and this one has worked very well for me.
Dipole/bipole or direct radiating
I agree with Sogood and would recommend the M20's. Also, depending on what happens with multi channel music it seems the direct radiating will definitely be better in this area (mind you, I'm not holding my breath on this one just yet).
Mark Levinson 360S & use of both RCA and balanced
I did it with my 36. Both were going to the same pre-amp. I did it to compare the differences of the balanced to single ended. Both are active outputs, so there should be no harm in doing this. You could always consult the Madrigal folks to be com...
Cork as an acoustical ceiling block
Much of the sound travels through the structure (i.e. the joists). What you would like to do is separate the joists from the ceiling with a small air gap decoupled from the joists (we have designs just for this) and have a high mass ceiling attach...
