klipschorns, they kick ass for sure
I've owned Khorns and submit along with Wilson Audio they are one of the most dynamic speakers that I have owned. To my ears both the Khorns and Wilsons aren't musical compared to some of the other speakers that I've owned...just my 2 cents.

bondmanp,I think what he was saying is, no matter what the listed frequency response of a speaker is, in his experience all speakers benefit from using a sub. The question is, will spending an equivalent amount on better speakers yield similar res...

tboooe,I swear to you adding subs has "opened things up and expanded the soundstage." I don't know why, but it's easy to hear. What has been difficult is blending them perfectly!

I do use a JL Audio CR-1.

I have experimented with several different crossover settings and have found that 90 hz works best in my room.stringreen,I agree that adding subs has significantly improved the mids and treble

My speakers go down to 27 hz, but with the subs I'm hearing bass details that I've never heard before. My system is 2 channel only.

jl35,yes, that is my question...whether money is better spent on better speakers? I added dual JL Audio F110s and the JL Audio CR-1 crossover to my system. Adding the subs has opened my system up. Music has more detail, air, and a larger soundstag...

I guess I type to fast and didn't proof read what I typed...it should read, "what are you thoughts."maplegrovemusic, the dealer provided several examples of speakers that "go down to 20 hz", but benefit from a great sub...Rockport Altair's and Wils...
Rel S/5 or JL Audio F112
Markel,I agree with you regarding the F110s. I have dual F110 V2s in a large room and don't see the need for anything else. In addition, I have a CR-1 and can tell you it makes a significant difference.
Aerial 7T to Dynaudio C2
Thanks, I'm going to listen to Revel Salon 2s on Saturday.
Aerial 7T to Dynaudio C2
I hate the way the C4's look and that is why I'm so hesitant.
Aerial 7T to Dynaudio C2
I can't win. I just purchased a pair of JL Audio F110 V2s and a JL Audio CR-1. My system sounds better than ever and I say I'm done. Yesterday, a good friend offered me Dynaudio C4 Platinum's at a crazy price, but he wants me to trade my JL Audio ...
Subwoofer SVS SB13Ultra vs JL Fathom F110V2
I don't know how much difference there is between the F110 and F110 V2, but it appears that erndog and srosenberg are not talking about the current JL Audio F110 V2. That being said, I like to repeat, "there are no absolutes in Audio, only prefere...
Subwoofer SVS SB13Ultra vs JL Fathom F110V2
martykl,I have an L-shaped room: w= 20', L= 24', back wall 26'(L).I'm not a dealer and haven't completed any measurements. I can't see anyone hearing both subs in the same room/system and not hearing the differences between the SB13 Ultra and the ...
Subwoofer SVS SB13Ultra vs JL Fathom F110V2
I'll preface my comments with in my system and in my room! The F110s are more articulate/tighter, provides more air, deeper, and play louder. Unfortunately, it isn't even close, because if it were I would have kept my SVS 13 Ultras.Adding the CR-1...
