Jeff Rowlands Amp and Dac vs. VAC amp and DAC
rinpoche,I feel your pain. Unfortunately no one can tell you what to buy. Only your ears and wallet can decide what's best for you based on your sonic priorities. It's a pretty easy decision, what sounds best based on how much you want to spend.
BEST AMPS FOR WILSON SASHA
When I had my Sasha’s I called Wilson Audio and they wouldn’t recommend any components. Some manufacturer’s do, but many won’t. I’m curious, I understand your cd5s has a built in preamplifier, but have you tried or thought of trying a preamp?
BEST AMPS FOR WILSON SASHA
p59teitel,several people asked for Bo to list his equipment, so I did. I don't agree with his tone either. I think it's funny how so many want to dictate how individuals respond to a post and that's why I sent the OP a PM, essentially saying the s...
BEST AMPS FOR WILSON SASHA
I believe bo1972 owns Pass Labs amplifiers, AudioQuest Wel Signature speaker and interconnect cables, Purist power cables, some form of Audyssey, and Monitor Audio speakers. I’m not sure what model Pass Labs or Monitor Audio speakers he has. If I’...
BEST AMPS FOR WILSON SASHA
knghifi,I submit there are many reasons besides sound that a company can have a large market share in highend audio...marketing and wide distribution are two reasons that I think contribute to a company having a larger market share
BEST AMPS FOR WILSON SASHA
Charles,I understand what you're saying about the OP loving his Sasha's. However based on my experience with Wilson Audio Sophia 2's, 3's, and Sasha's I sent the OP a PM suggesting that he should consider other speakers. It's just my experience, b...
ASSEMBLED IN CHINA
I guess I should throw my computer and mobile phone away. I've had many speakers over the years and the only pair that had quality issues were Wilson Audio Sophia 2's...the finish started to peel. I don't think they are made in China.
What's going on with the audio market?
You don’t protect your 1st Amendment rights anymore than I do. After 50 years on this earth I’ve learned to stay away from, not talk to, or simply ignore people that I perceive to be like you. Unfortunately, Audiogon doesn’t have an unfriend like ...
What's going on with the audio market?
jafant,I don’t know you, but I have read many of your post. People like you make it hard to continue to be part of Audiogon. This is a hobby that should be fun; therefore I don’t understand the need to use such foul language or talk politics on an...
Your single favorite component
I love my Rowland components, but my Monitor Audio PL500 speakers are my single favorite component.
ASSEMBLED IN CHINA
I've had this conversation with many people. I've had Aerial 7T's and currently own Monitor Audio PL-500's. I believe both speakers are assembled in China. I submit in both cases they would be significantly more expensive if made in their home Cou...
Can SMPS based preamps/amps sound organic ?
My Jeff Rowland 625 S2 uses SMPS and it's the best, most natural sounding amplifier that I've ever owned.
Why is an XA30.5 a bad match for Revel Ultima Salon II speakers?
After having a Parasound A21 amp and JC 2 BP preamp I suggest you keep the XA30.5. Once you have the Salon 2's you will know if it has enough power for your listening needs. If so, you saved some money. If not, keep the XA30.5 until you have the f...
Jeff Rowlands Amp and Dac vs. VAC amp and DAC
Guido,I love the Aeris DAC's sound, but dislike the way the gain is accomplished. Per your statement, "If you use a preamp between Aeris and amp, you should set the Aeris attenuation to the DAC's equivalent of unity gain: per the Aeris manual, the...
When speakers duplicate drivers
I have Monitor Audio PL-500's and they are the best speakers that I've ever owned.
