Revel F208s upgrade from Silverline Sonatina IIIs?
I've owned many, many speakers; however I've never heard the Silverline Sonatina IIIs. I currently own F208s, after owning Wilson Audio Sashas. I don't want to get into a debate over better or worst, but I will say that I find the Revel F208s to b...
Revel Speakers
Bruce,I will look into the Paradigms. Funny thing is I may just add a Paradigm Signature sub 1 and call it a day.

I'm trying to find a dealer that has F208s and Studio 2s. I would like to hear how they compare to each other. I'm 100% sure I will get either the F208s or Studio 2s, unless I get a super deal on Salon 2s.
Revel Speakers
Egrady,I've owned many, many speakers to include Sophia 2s, 3s, and Sashas. In the context of the system I had the Sasha's in they were forward. As a matter of fact I've listened to many speakers over the years and Revels seem to have the right mi...
Revel Speakers
Prior to the F52s I had Wilson Sashas. I thought I wanted to get away from music and sold my entire system. After a couple of months I missed it and decided to purchase modest gear that included the Revel F52s. To my surprise my current system has...
Revel Speakers
I've talked to a couple people that prefer F52s over F208s. It's my understanding that the F208s are a little more detailed, but the soundstage isn't as good...I'm trying to find a dealer close enough to me to let my own ears decide.
Revel Speakers
Chrissain,Thanks for your response. I like the F-52 because of their warmth and they provide enough detail without being bright or forward. Do you think the Ultima series is more forward? I'm really thinking about just going to Salon 2s.
How much does your system retail for?
Old system over 30K, current system under 15K, the fact that I enjoy music on my current system is priceless.
Use Your Own Ears
B_limo,You've said it better than I did, "I think my assesment of components within my system will now be strongly based on how I feel while listening to music. Is it involving? Does it draw me in? Does my mind constantly wander onto something els...
Use Your Own Ears
Shakeydeal,"You make it sound as though one is chopped liver and the other is prime rib." No, I made the statement to say, I've owned different types of dynamic speakers, horn vs cone. I could have said, I've owned DeVore, Mirage, B&W, Artemis...
Clear Day w Solid State, any users and impressions
I had them with SS and I submit they are very good and you must spend considerably more money to get minimum improvement. I currently have Silver Audio cables and I believe they sound like the recording. If it's recorded well it shows and if it's ...
New Rega Apollo-R
Sunnyjim,I went from the Apollo to Apollo-R. To my ears I really can't say there is a big difference. I sold my Apollo-R because it struggles tracking imperfect disc.
Wilson Alexia - what's the competition
Jfrech,I really don't understand why you feel the need to question what I hear. It's pretty simple, you have your preference and I have my preference. You say many people don't describe Rocport's they way I do. I submit many people on blogs have n...
Wilson Alexia - what's the competition
Audioconnection,I always include the phrase: there are no absolutes in Audio...everyone has a preference! I think it's funny that your quick to connect the "dark sound" to Transparent cables. I'm not suggesting "dark sound" is bad, it's just not m...
Wilson Alexia - what's the competition
Soix,My wife and I listened to Aviors connected to Nagra electronics, DCS stack, and Transparent speaker cable. In the context of that system and that room Avior's sound on the dark side of neutral. My wife and I submit Sasha's are neutral in comp...
