Oppo 95 vs. Bryston Bdp1/Bda1 You've already shelled out big bucks for the Bryston combo. It would cost you a fraction of that to try the alternative. Go ahead and try. If it compares well to the Bryston then send the Bryston back or resell it.If you prefer the Bryston then yo...
Logitech pulls plug on squeezebox I'm stunned. Hasn't it been a fairly profitable product?
Wadia 121 Dedoding Computer? Thanks. It is a pity that what used to be a fine company has had so many issues.
Wadia 121 Dedoding Computer? How are the forum users getting on with the Wadia 121? I'm interested in it but the comments about customer service from this company are give cause for pause.
Smartphone for the audiophile? I had the iphone and am now on the second generation of the Droid. The Apple device sounded better, but I have hooked up the Droid to my main rig via USB and am surprised at how acceptable it sounds playing mp3 files. I don't know why anyone would ...
WHICH ONE TO BUY? You need a modern AVR. I don't know anything about your speakers but anything rated at 100 watts in the front channels will drive virtually any speaker out there. Most of them come with ipod docks. If you are really worried about power go for a hi...
Esoteric SA-10 or Ayre CX-7e: Too close to call?? I really don't understand why someone should be ridiculed for asking for advice on these forums. We all need to listen and make our own decisions, but what is the harm in querying others? Some people should take some Prozac and chill
A main stream after DVD? There is a lot of Opera content on Blu Ray. The audio formats utilized in Blu Ray are far superior to the ones used for DVD, and there are some great sounding players (particularly Sony) in the low $100 range. Blu Ray is the perfect medium for Opera.
Multi-Format players of yesteryear, vs. Now How much was the upgrade, if you don't mind my asking?
Subwoofer Rattle I had the same sub and it rattled like heck. I discovered others with the same problem on an Internet forum. Apparently it was the main driver rattling against some bracing. I replaced it with a Paradigm sub. No problems with that.

question about "lower" priced CD players/DACs I have the D-LinkIII. I've enjoyed it for years, but I'm beginning to tire of it's aggressive, in-your-face sound, although it can be wonderfully detailed. This became really noticeable after I added another Digital Player (Denon DCD A-100) in the...
Upgrade CD player or get into LPs? Suggestions Lately, every lp I had gotten seemed unplayable to me, filled with noise. This applied to internet sales where the buyer listed the product as nm and to lps thatI purchased in stores that looked great on inspection. I think the problem was deterio...
Upgrade CD player or get into LPs? Suggestions Do it all.I would buy a budget turntable to dip into vinyl. Vinyl is a new paradigm for you, and there are software issues (you may not be able to find playable lps of the music that you want to listen to). An entry level Rega or Pro-Jett, or Thor...
Turntable Recommendation for Beginner You've got a nice system, as others have commented. For most people I would recommend something very basic like the Project Debut or the Rega P1 but that would be an insult to the rest of your system. I just upgraded from the Rega P5 with exacta m... |
