Vintage Gyrodec TT power supply question @dogberry No you didn't. So sorry, it's been a long day. Just trying to catch up before I crash.
Vintage Gyrodec TT power supply question OP, if your Gyrodec has the Technoarm 2 tonearm, it has a habit of fraying at the RCA connectors -- it’s a continuous cable. It happened to me and the result was the left channel coming in and out. Just something to look out for.
Vintage Gyrodec TT power supply question @mgattmch Good catch. I didn’t even consider the older Papst power supplies. @boywondr84 Both of my links above are the newer DC power supplies, @elliottbnewcombjr posted the link for the QC power supply which I believe is an upgraded Power su...
Vintage Gyrodec TT power supply question I really like my gyrodec so I think it's worth the effort. The HR power supply is the upgrade. I found it to be a significant improvement. It was cheaper a few years ago though. https://fidelityhifi.com/products/michell-hr-power-supply If you w...
Do I really Need a Digital to Digital Converter? Same. I got a DDC to connect my streamer to my DAC I2S. There was a noticeable improvement in sound quality. In the end, I got rid of it all. I couldn’t get past the idea that I shouldn’t need one more device in the chain along with its own LPS an...
Am I broken? Am I stuck? Do I have to return my audiophile card now? OP, You say you’re happy with the Sabrina’s. To me you sound like a man who knows what he likes. I think @onhwy61 Barcelona idea is a good one. ;-) If your system sounds great to you now then that might be a sign to just enjoy it. You can always ...
POWER AMPLIFIER FOR LOW TO MODERATE LISTENING Alternatively you may wish to try Autoformer’s. I’m using them between my ARC REF 75 SE (8 Ohm taps) and Magnepan 3.7i’s. Low to moderate and high SPL all sound great, it was a huge improvement. https://anticables.com/store/ZERO-Boxes-p14644876
Did I do a good thing or not? Please let us know how this turns out. I’m looking forward to it. Thank you!
Turntable repair Denver area..PLEASE HELP COLORADO You might not need a guru for this problem. I have a Gryrodec as well and experienced a similar issue. A few questions: 1) Is this an intermittent problem? 2) If you swap the right/left phono leads into the preamp, does the problem move to the ot...
Vinyl static ionizers who's used them? @dogberry if you are referring to the Hudson Hifi anti static brush, it is indeed grounded. And there is a dark colored bristle that I suspect is conductive. https://youtu.be/MKjfZrZ3gY8 @ossicle2brain the only other adjustment I can think to ex...
Vinyl static ionizers who's used them? @ossicle2brain adding static? That’s unfortunate. I attached the ground lead to my phono and it works great. Then again my platter is definitely not steel. I’ve got a Michell Gyrodec SE. My tonearm (SME M2 9R) is also grounded to phono. Antins’ p...
Vinyl static ionizers who's used them? FWIW, I’ve had great luck eliminating static with this: https://www.hudsonhifi.com/products/vinyl-record-cleaning-arm-anti-static-brush-for-vinyl-records-adjustable-record-player-cleaner-arm-for-turntables-anti-static-vinyl-brush-w-carbon-fiber-c...
