Help, my system seem to have slowly gotten " bright" Have you tried a test cd to that goes through the frequency range, left and right?
Please Help. J. A. Michell Gyro SE - Speed Issue I wouldn’t give up on fixing this turntable. I’m not familiar with your motor or power supply, however, the problem could be with either. I upgraded to the HR Power Supply which has the speed adjustment on the back. You can contact Michell here, ...
Push-pull Tube Amps and autoformers I’m a very happy customer. The autoformers allow me to use the 8 Ohm tap on my ARC 75SE. SQ is excellent, at higher volumes the amp is working effortlessly. I’m also using an analog crossover at 60hz for my subs. Yours is a perfect application fo...
Quandary @rvpiano Sounds like a prudent decision. Upgrades are often a slippery slope, consuming a lot of time and money until you get your system where you want it. At some point we just need to enjoy our system as it is. At least one seasoned poster her...
Quandary If you're happy with your system now, I'd leave well enough alone. As far as paying for the audition, I think everything is negotiable. And I'd rather audition the actual amp rather than it's big brother. Interesting sales tactic though. What ...

Please Help. J. A. Michell Gyro SE - Speed Issue @quincy Can you confirm that the belt is in the top position of the motor spindle? And not the bottom position? That’s the difference between 33.3 and 45 rpm.
Please Help. J. A. Michell Gyro SE - Speed Issue Try the belt first. Does your gyrodec have the older ac motor or the newer (post 2000?) dc motor? This link may help. https://www.angelfire.com/music5/michell_gyrodec/ My dc motor has a speed adjustment. Hope this helps.
MC-MM-MI CARTRIDGES . DO YOU KNOW WHICH HAS BETTER QUALITY PERFORMANCE? REALLY? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
New expensive power cord for amp and no change in sound? Trust your ears. If you didn’t notice a change then your original pc was not a weak link. You should be able to return minus a restocking fee. With regards to evaluation methods, @dill has sound advice. I’m assuming you did not rush to judgeme...
little big win Nicely done!
Record player sounds out of tune and "wavy" Speed control. A new belt will probably help. There should be an adjustable speed control on the motor. There are apps like RPM for the iPhone that measure RPM and wow/flutter. Good luck! |
