Best cable for Graham 2.2
Revelation Audio Paradise reference tonearm cable - don't overlook this reasonably priced cable. I prefer it over the IC-70
Graham 1.5 tone set-up...
The 1.5 is like the 2.2Check with SirSpeedy and his previous threads listed here.
Audio Research Ref 3 Opinions
I just love it. ARC has modified its semantics and is now doing "rolling updates" in addition to probable future upgrades or Mk changes. And this "rolling update" seems to have required detective work by a REF 3 owner to come to light.
SME 20/2A set up
Ian - I agree with all above. All tonearms will overhang as the table footprint is small. I'm using the table with its ball bearings sitting on a Symposium Ultra platform with great results. I had a custom dustcover made from gingkoaudio.com which...
Best CD player now made.
The BAT D5SE is now available with the SUPERPAK upgrade, which adds further capacitance above the standare SE SIXPAK upgrade. So far, in my listening, I have noticed deeper and tighter bass and more dynamics. It is still in the break-in process.
Preamp after Manley Steelhead?
Bwhite- I also found that the 5867 does not work well in the Steelhead and am using NOS 7044's rather than the stock ones. For sure, rolling to NOS 6922's really brings out the potential of the unit.
Preamp after Manley Steelhead?
Goatwuss - If you don't get it I will explain. Stereophile ranked the Steelhead very highly as a stand alone preamp, not just as a phono pre-amp. Regardless of what you may think of that publication, I was suggesting that Mark passer use his Stee...
Preamp after Manley Steelhead?
The Steelhead got rave reviews as a pre-amp in Stereophile. But if you decide to run it into a pre-amp, use the fixed outputs.
has anyone heard the nuforce amplifiers
Jwpstayman - How do they affect FM tuners? Thanks.

Graham IC-50 -vs-IC-70 "shotgun"
As echoed by Gerardff above, phono cable break-in takes some time, given the small signal strength. I personally recommend the Cable Cooker to speed up this lengthy process and remove the break-in factor from cable evaluation. I have found it make...
Mac MA2275 users, opinions
Used to own the 6900. Sold it to buy the 2275. Found the 2275 more musical and satisfying, the 6900 less involving. Didn't need the extra power of the 6900. The 2275 sounds even better with tube rolling the small tubes. The 2275 is a combination o...
Manley Steelhead Tube Rolling
I'm now using Mullard CV2492's for the 6922's and GE 7044's.Not sure yet how much difference the NOS 7044's make but the Mullards sound wonderful.
Mcintosh MA6900 power meter bulb replacement
The 3 small bulbs behind each meter are soldered into a small board. This board is removable. Changing these bulbs requires some skill with a soldering iron (not that hard) but certainly not as easy as changing the bulbs (plug and twist - no solde...
