Current Thiel and Aerial owners-- please comment..
I had full-range Apogees and sold them knowing that there had to be something better out there. I spent several years and more money than I want to admit looking for that speaker. The only thing that came close to the transparency, detail, speed a...
What's the best preamp for my system?
If absolute accuracy of reproduction (including sound stage depth and width) is important to you, a Placette passive volume control or preamp would be worth considering. Check out http://www.placetteaudio.com They should be within your price range...

Adding A Remote to a Pre-Amp
Thank you everyone for your ideas and information. This place never fails to fill-in the many gaps in my knowledge.Rick
Why are there so many unopened amps, ect for sale?
I purchased a NIB Conrad-Johnson pre-amp at half the retail price from a private individual who turned out to be a dealer trying to unload excess and discontinued stock. He even included a sales receipt from his store so I could get warranty cover...
Biamp or not
It depends if your speakers are built to bi-amp (separate binding posts for the woofer and tweeter). If not, then you will have to do some serious modifications to the speaker and crossover. Also, it is better if your pre-amp has more then one set...
Is this the norm?
Thanks for starting the thread - I was about to do something similar but from the buyers perspective.I've contacted 4 different sellers over the last week to purchase their items at the posted asking price. Seller #1 - no response for 6 days and t...
Belles Research Corporation? ?
Thanks for the information. The amp is the model with rack handles and the rocker switch. It is well built and heavy. It's pretty dusty and needs a good cleaning. I sent an e-mail to their info account to see if any type of documentation was avail...
35 and 40 ft runs-Balanced will be expensive
The first recommendation to go to the music store for the balanced cables came from Coda - the same people who design and build the Innersound amps.
35 and 40 ft runs-Balanced will be expensive
Go to your local musical instrument store. They have the same high quality balanced cables used by the recording studios without the "audiophile" packaging and markup. You'll pay 50% to 75% less at the music store for the same item. This is a recom...
Source for Shipping Boxes?
The speakers are a pair of Apogee Cepheus 6. I've had significant damage to another pair of speakers in the past, but they weren't well packed by the shipper. They will go cross country with a frieght company (not with UPS). I've seen the original...

The right amp for Martin Logan Ascents
I'm using a Coda amp with my CLS IIz. Coda is the OEM for Innersound and Legacy amps and they sound very similar. I tried an ARC tube power amp a few months ago, but it didn't suit my tastes. I found it too soft and lacking in base response. I've ...
Forte Model 7 Opinions
Thank you for your opinions and recommendations. I've agreed to purchase the pair of 7's at a price that was very attractive. I'm planning on using them to drive some Martin-Logan CLS IIz's. If they don't work out well, I should be able to resell ...
