Jitter issues with dacs....
I've been listening to several DACs and CD players over the last year. I enjoyed listening to those with 24/192 upsamlers the most. I attributed this preference to the upsampling.Well, I tried a Benchmark DAC1, which has no upsampling at all and i...
Best Used Solid State Amp for less than $5000?
Coda manufactures several lines. The Continuum line is the lower end. They manufacture for several other companies such as Innersound and Legacy. I think these are more of a middle of the line product. Then they have their own "Coda" branded amps....

Best Used Solid State Amp for less than $5000?
If you like the Threshold sound, a good portion of that former group is at Coda. I've owned Forte and Threshold electronics in the past and the Coda amps are an improvement. The Pass labs equipment is also very good, but I believe it is over-price...
To preamp or not to preamp???
Most sources today put out sufficient voltage to drive power amps into clipping, so gain from a preamp isn't needed. Placette audio and Bent audio both make execellent passive attenuators that will do what you need done and preserve the transparen...
New preamp or other suggestions?
You might try replacing the active preamp with a passive from Placette or Bent. It will clean-up your system. I've owned Thiels and they are demanding speaker. They need to be well fed to sound their best.Rick
Preamps. Do we really need them?
I have owned a number of preamps, both active and passive. I’ve finally settled on a passive from Placette. It is mercilessly accurate and transparent. It comes with a full money back guaranty if you don’t like it. http://www.placetteaudio.com/
Upgrade from Threshold T3?
If you like the Threshold sound, Pass Labs and Coda both make amps with those same characteristics.
Placette, VS First Sound VS Audio Synthesis Passio
I've had my Placette Passive for about 18 months now. It allows you to hear your components and the source material as they are. It has no added coloration, no distortion and no mercy. Everything comes through with total transparency. It definately...
What kind of power wakes up electrostatic speakers
The ESL amps are actually Coda's low-end "Continuum" line. These should not be confused with Coda's branded line, which is quite superior in sound and quality to the Continuum. I've driven M-L CLS IIz with both a Continuum and the higher-end Coda ...
What does a pre amp do
Wadia's site clearly states that there a loss of resolution unless the digital volume control is run at maximum (no attenuation). The more the attenuation, the higher the loss of resolution. If your amp has average gain and your speakers are more ...
What does a pre amp do
Just about every CD player, even expensive ones with a volume control use a cheap pot or digital attenuator and possibly a set of opamps. It's better to use the fixed output and control the volume with any number of good quality passive preamps or...
repairability of amps from the late 80's and 90's
Service is available for Threshold/Forte from a highly qualified former employee at reasonable rates.http://www.rsvlonline.net/vintageamp/default.htm
Classe 300 or Innersound Esl amp. for Maggie 3.5s?
If you are going to consider the Innersound, go to the source. Coda is the designer and builder of the Innersound amp. http://www.coda-continuum.com Get better pricing and better service.
Thoughts on Coda gear? Any Coda owners out there?
I've owned a Continuum Window, Coda 2B and and 01p preamps over the years as well as the Continuum Stage + amps. Everything was solid and neutral. I traded my two Stage + amps towards a Model 20.5 over a year ago and it is the best amp I've ever h...
