DENON PMA - A100 vs NAD C375BEE I would go with the PMA without a doubt. I owned the "regular" PMA 80 before switching to tubes. At its price point nothing else comes close, and it produces a prodigious amount of current. It is also quite musical. I do not have any experience wi...
Solid state amp around 2000-2500 used or new If you have a line on the Pass, that is the way to go.
Rogue Owners Unite I have heard each of the amps you mentioned. The 180s are quieter and faster than the 150s, and are a significant upgrade. It's been too long since I heard the 120s to comment.
Need help choosing between Jolida and Peachtree You said that you like the Jolida for the sound, and the Peachtree for the built in DAC and flexibility. Based on that I would get the Jolida because for me it's about the sound first and foremost. Secondly, I would not want the DAC to be built in...
Which integrated amp? There is a Denon PMA A100 listed on Audiogon now. It is very conservatively rated and provides a prodigious amount of current. At its price point you will find it hard to beat. Actually, youl'll find it hard to beat up to about $5k.
Best integrated amp for 10K I would go with the Ayon Triton. I have heard its little brother, the Spirit, drive some current hungry speakers very well. I would only imagine the Triton would acquit itself very well with your speakers.
Newbie building modest system ...what amp? I recommend too going the integrated amp route as the best way to maximize your budget. There is a Denon PMA A100 integrated list on Audiogon now, and I recommend it. It is the anniversary edition of the PMA, which I used to own. The regular PMA w...
kt77 vrs kt120 in Rogue M180s Chris,I really don't know if the longevity of my tubes are unusual or not. A buddy of mine has an Ayon Spirit 1 with GL KT 88s, and they have a few years on them too. I can ask the guys at the shop to see if what they have to say. I will post thei...
Integrated Choice - Down to two I would say go with the Cronus magnum, without a doubt.
Dunlavy SC4 Speakers 2CJ,It's good that your dealer is going to take care of the repair. That sounds like a much better situation for you, and I certainly hope everything goes well.
Dunlavy SC4 Speakers Our shop here sells a lot of vintage gear and if they were selling such a pair of speakers they would have them repaired first, then sell them too you. Otherwise, you should decide how much money you are willing to throw away if you can't get them...
kt77 vrs kt120 in Rogue M180s The EH KT88s Rogue was getting had some quality issues. I don't think Samzx12's trouble with them was rare. That prompted Mark to go with EH KT90s as the base offering. It was simply related to the quality issues with the EH KT88s. My GL KT88s wer...
kt77 vrs kt120 in Rogue M180s Wolf, you cracked me up!Chris, I ordered my M180s originally with the GL KT88s as an upgrade. I've been fortunate that they've been going strong for about 3 or 4 years. I've been told that Rogue rejects a lot of tubes, so the ones they supply are ...
Which Speakers would you buy I have not heard the Audio Physic speakers. I have heard the Ref. 5 speakers. You will find them to be fast and refined. They reminded me of my Silverline Bolero speakers - very capable, maybe a little laid back, very refined. I would certainly co...
I’m looking for suggestions for a tube Pre Amp The Jolida Fusion 3000 preamp retails for $1299. You might consider a tube integrated amp. A Rogue Cronus is in the ballpark of your preamp budget, as are many of the Jolida products. Topping out your budget, for instance, would be a Jolida JD801B... |
