My baby left me... left me sad and bluuuuueee....
Almost any blues from the master, John Lee Hooker, listen to "It Serves Me Right To Suffer" and "When My First Wife Left Me" Oh by the way, I have been there and the music helps.
Best Redbood CD Player Used/New under $7K
Audiomeca Mephisto 11.X is the best Redbook digital I have heard with the exception of the ultra expensive dCS gear.
Grace 714 tonearm....any experience?
I had a Grace tonearm on a Linn LP12 over 25 years ago, I can't remember the exact model number but it was a 700 Series model. It was one of the best sounding arms of its day and I believe it probably could still deliver outstanding sound today.
Manley Steelhead Tube Rolling
I have to repectfully disagree with the above two posts. As a long time tube head(built my first tube amp from a kit in the 1960s) I think tube rolling is not only fun but most times an improvement in sound reproduction. I changed out the stock 69...
phono cable suggestions..
I have to second the post on the Silver Breeze phono cable. I had a Hovland Music Groove cable in my system and purchased a Manley Steelhead phono stage and the Hovland wouldn't fit the Manley( the RCA jacks on the back were too far apart to use t...
Comfortable by good sounding headphones?
I really have to start reading my posts before sending them. Of course I meant " Comfortable but good sounding headphones"
Preamp to use with Rowland mono amps
I have a Jeff Rowland amplifier(Model 10) in my system and have used a number of ss (including Synergy 11i) and tube preamps over the years. The best sounding preamp I have found for my system is the Conrad Johnson 16LS Series 11.
upgrading from cary 306-200
I had a Cary 306/200 cdp and a catalog of over 5000 cds and wanted to upgrade. I listened to many one and two box systems and purchased an Audiomeca Mephisto 11.X. The best Redbook playback I heard was the dCS system but it was completely out of m...
Getting into Opera... need advice
I would recommend something from Richard Wagner, one of the operas from "The Ring Cycle" would be nice. It's rather heavy music from the "Romantic" period and I like Sir George Solti's compositions the best.
How many satisfied AudioMeca Mephisto 2x owners
I purchased my Audiomeca from an Audiogon dealer(Perrotta Consulting) about a year ago and haven't had one problem. I have had very strong dealer support( repeat customer ,thanks Anthony)and am quite pleased. It is an exceptional unit that not onl...
PS Audio 500 questions
I have a PS Audio P600 Power Plant and wanted to try the 500 because it was smaller and fit better in my system. I found the fan loud and the unit ran hot and would frequently shut down. This was the first production run so there could of been a p...

Has anyone compared Audio Research LS25II to Ref2
I had the LS25Mk11 and was looking to upgrade, I auditioned the Ref 11 Mk11 and heard subtle differences in my system. The Ref 11 Mk 11 was more detailed but like Rlips found it somewhat noisier than the LS25 Mk11. I was looking at new equipment s...
