Have you heard of EMOTIVA?
I am considering their USP-1 preamp because of the bass management capabilities. The only other preamp I have come across that has similar features is the Parasound 2100, also built overseas. I have listened to the Parasound and was impressed, but...
Parasound new classic 2100 vs Emotiva USP-1
Amp would be emotiva upa-1 or the parasound 2125. I run B&W 685s and a HSU sub. Sorry I should have mentioned this, mine is a 2.1 system. I mentioned 2-channel because this is for music only, not home theater.
integrated or separates...on a $1200 price point?
Thanks for all the advice. I am still saving up, I don't know how long I can last before I pull the trigger on some new equipment.
Creek vs. Parasound
Does anyone know of another pre-amp that has built in bass management, similar to the Parasound classic 2100? I have not seen one, but I have not been doing that much research.
airport express questions
Thanks Puerto, I have seen a link to their site in another thread, they are the ones who convinced me that maybe a plastic Toslink cable is OK. I am really interested in a mini/full toslink cable, just more of a pure thing than using the adapter, ...
Creek vs. Parasound
The HSU's low pass crossover max's out at 180Hz, the Parasound's low pass crossover maximum setting is 140Hz, so I guess I won't be missing anything. I have read sporadic reports of Parasound equipment having reliability issues, but the 10 year wa...
Creek vs. Parasound
Bob Reynolds - The Parasound 2100 preamp has line level outputs that high pass at 80Hz, and it also has a low pass crossover that is variable. My sub already has a variable low pass crossover, so it would be best to connect the sub to the parasoun...

Also noticed recently that Parasound Classic 2100 pre amp has bass management built in - which is nice because I run a 2.1 system, I would not have to buy a separate BMC! I could high-pass the B&Ws. BUT the Classic series is kind of ugly.

Synthfreek - where do you get an "old school mac mini" for $150? would this be a used computer? The new ones are minimum $600...can this cheaper mac mini of which you speak still be controlled by the remote app on an older, used iTouch? Also - cou...

The Plinius is gorgeous. Looks are important to me at this price point, but it would be nice to have power-amp-in jacks so I can buy a really nice pre-amp in a few years. The Anthem 225 gets good reviews but falls short on looks - though I do like...

room size is about 14x12, 8 foot ceiling. Its in the basement and two walls are concrete foundation. When it comes to volume, I like it kind of loud, typically working while listening to the dial set from 9 to 11 o'clock. Power cord and decent ICs...

what is core audio? If it is set to 16 bit, will it still play 24 bit files? Are 24 bit files available on iTunes, and how are these produced? I think CDs have 16 bit resolution, so any 24 bit coming off of them is upsampled. What software do you ...
Sonos vs. airport express
I would prefer the Jolida 1501 RC, and I need pre-outs or A/B speakers because I run a 2.1 system (B&W 685s and HSU VTF-1). I suppose I can use stackable banana clips on Jolida's single channel, but when the amp clips, if the integrated had pr...

Fire BAD!I have everything at 320 mp3, chose mp3 because most newer cd changers can read it. dunno if they can read 320 kbps tho! I don't think as many changers can read .m4a (.aac), have you burned your .aac files to a disk and played it in a pla...
