Thanks guys - I was thinking about the MF V-DAC - which I don't think has good jitter reduction. I can always add a re-clocker later...I have a birthday coming up and I want to get into PC audio. DAC would be connected to an ancient Yami receiver,...
DAC that re-clocks for under $1000?
I am surprised that no one has mentioned the MF V-DAC - I guess it does not re-clock the signal. It gets very high scores on comparison tests with other DACs that are much more expensive. Per the Empirical Audio website, once jitter is removed or ...
DAC that re-clocks for under $1000?
Kijanki, I will read your link - looks like it is loaded with great info, thanks...
DAC that re-clocks for under $1000?
Kijanki, all tech speak aside, i think we all agree that Benchmark's product probably sounds better than the music hall and the ps audio. You are saying Benchmark has less distortion, your post is in favor of their product? I am a bit more new to ...
DAC that re-clocks for under $1000?
i have confirmation from PS audio tech support that their digital link III does re-clock the incoming signal. Documentation for the Music Hall 25.2 DAC specifically claims it re-clocks the signal. I am not sure what "asynchronous" means - if the B...
DAC that re-clocks for under $1000?
Singleendedsingle, check out UnderwoodHiFi.com, they have two mods for the music hall 25.2 DAC. Its beyond the price I am comfortable paying tho. http://underwoodhifi.com/mod_musichall.html
DAC that re-clocks for under $1000?
Pkubica, I was referring to the Onkyo ND-S1, see review here:http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/31/onkyo-nd-s1-ipod-dock-feaures-digital-audio-composite-video-an/I cannot find this dock anywhere but on websites in the United Kingdom. It is not listed...
DAC that re-clocks for under $1000?
Peter_s, there are two other iPod docks that can get the digital iPod signal - one from Denon and one from Onkyo. The Onkyo has a nicer look. Peachtree should come out with their iDecco in Jan - an integrated with a digital iPod dock and Sabre DAC...
DAC that re-clocks for under $1000?
I second Mapman's post - what else? PS Audio tech support just informed me that their Digital Link III does re-clock the signal. I think it retails for $699.
Wadia i170 mod Modified iTransports?
IMHO, after much research into transports and DACs, the i170 has a jitter problem. Most mods out there address this problem, but if you purchase an external DAC that has a re-clocker built in, such as the Music Hall 25.2, the DAC will re-clock the...
Rega Mira 3 or Exposure 2010s????
I know, I am disappointed too. I was giving this amp a very serious look, because I want the ability to high-pass, and I also want a very exotic piece. NAD just doesn't do it for me on the look. I am willing to wait a while and get something reall...
My Dream SubWoofer - does it exist?
I have looked at the REL lines. None of them on the current website have crossed over output jacks. I did find an Epos ELS sub on audio advisor for $679 that showed a variable high-pass crossover knob, set above the unbalanced input/output jacks. ...
My Dream SubWoofer - does it exist?
Holy cow! $3000 for an external crossover is a bit much considering I am only running B&W 685s...I should have mentioned that...
Rega Mira 3 or Exposure 2010s????
Sorry I don't know why that link doesn't work. I don't know how to post jpeg's here, I don't know if you can, but I can convert the page 7 of the pdf to a jpeg and email it to you. Quote from the Mira manual on the Rega website:"We have improved t...
Rega Mira 3 or Exposure 2010s????
Guys, be careful about which Rega Mira 3 you buy, according to the current manual on their website, they have removed the power-amp-in jacks to shorten the signal path:http://www.rega.co.uk/downloads/Mira3%20English.pdf, page 7There are still a lo...
