Best Drum Solos
I have played drums for over 50 years in many groups throughout the years. I reallylike the technical guys. I think ginger baker, Mitch Mitchell, Neal Peart and others are pretty good but play pretty basic, not very difficult. IMO John Bonham was ...
Insuring your Audio Room?
Back in 1978, Allstate wouldn't insure my house because my stereo system was considered way more than the % of the value of the house. Now I have extra riders for my stereo and art, pretty cheap, plus I have an umbrella for extra liability. Been t...
Hegel vs Rogue
I used to have the rogue Cronus magnum ii with the kt-120 tubes. I liked it a lot except for the loose bottom end with my floor standing ushers. I then got the Hegel H100. I liked it better than the rogue but lite on the power. I bought a new Hege...
integrated amp recommendation needed
There is a difference in the quality of watts. A Yamaha or Cambridge 100 watt amp will sound quite a bit different than a 100 watt amp for on Levinson/classe/McIntosh. That's why Revel wants you to use a quality amp for their speakers
What sounds best: Vinyl or CDs
IMO, it all depends on the recording and on the playback equipment. Since you are just getting started, I would start investing in equipment that would really give your system a boost in SQ. IMO, going from a Yamaha CD player to a rega isn't going...
Which personal confuser for ultra high end audio, MAC, PC, notebook, tablet or desktop?
Mac, Linux, raspberry, never windows! I did the Mac route for years and used pure music and audirvana 2.x with an external dac using USB. Then auditioned many streamers and purchased the Auralic Aries using lightning ds. Much better sounding and i...

Aurender upgrades Tidal - MQA -Only for A10 and 20 - lesser models not worth their time
MQA is software. Months ago, MQA files would be unfolded on a computer so what Lalitk mentioned above isn't completely true. There are benefits of unfolding MQA files even if you don't have a MQA supported DAC. I didn't go with Aurender products w...
Suggestions on Better Server Setup than Mac Mini
Mac mini using iTunes sucks! When I switched to audirvana 2.x I switched from an iTunes library to the audirvana library, much better. I thought it was very good until I heard and evaluated dedicated music servers, and ended up getting the Auralic...
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable?
I'm guessing this is a bogus entry. If this was really true, why would somebody buy Wilson speakers that use fairly pricey wire inside of each speaker instead of ordering a special pair of wilsons with 14ga zip cord in them to save a buck?i have a...
16 bit is good enough.....
Sorry, but the statement about 16/44 blows away the notion that you need hi-Res is wrong used the way nonoise presented this. How in the hell can somebody say 16/44 is the best without listening to the same song(s) in 24/96,24/192, or in DSD? I ha...
whats the very best sounding cables for realistic money
soundstring!
Which server / renderer to buy?
I liked the Auralic Aries better than the aurender's and purchased it. I had it hooked up to my external w4s dac 2 dsd. Much better than the Mac mini server with audirvana 2. I have since sold the Auralic Aries and purchased the ps audio directstr...
